NEO on Nevsky — Hotel in Литейный округ

I just stayed for 5 nights here in mid June. This hostel is very well located in the middle of Nevsky prospect. It's not super easy to find since it's a just doorway off the main street with a sign above it. With the busy fast moving streets if you're not paying attention you could end up missing it like I did. When you go in you have to go up a couple of flights of stairs and there's no lift. It's a bit dark and seems a bit sketchy but it's fine. From the hostel you can easily walk to the main sights like I did but it's also close to bus stops and metro lines. As a solo female traveler the entire area and St Petersburg in general felt very safe. I had no concerns at all even being out and about in the evening time and when away from the main tourist and city center areas.||||The hostel itself is nicely decorated, very modern and stylish. There are enough bathrooms, I never had to wait. The kitchen is clean and spacious but could use some signs on how to use the touch screen oven and labels on the draws for pans and bin etc so you don't have to look through them all to find something. The rooms were also clean and the bed was comfortable. The downside was that my room (4 bed female dorm) was facing onto the main street. If you opened the window the noise from the traffic was horrendously loud into the early morning. If you closed the window it got very hot, stuffy and uncomfortable. Unfortunately this meant the quality of sleep I had was quite poor. Also the first couple of nights there were groups of young kids staying who made a lot of noise running about even in the late evening. It might have been good if staff had reminded the leaders of the group to keep the noise level down for other guests. The staff seemed friendly and helpful although not having a lot of English but that seemed common for St Petersburg. Overall if it hadn't been so hot in St Petersburg at the time it would have been an excellent stay so I would still recommend it to others. ||||Pros:||Good safe, central location||Environment||Big kitchen||Staff seemed helpful||Good free wifi||||Cons:||No air con||A lot of noise from the main street||Needs more signs in the kitchen||More English...

The place is quite strategic. Near metro station Mayakovskaya (M1,Red line) only 3mins walking distance from hostel. Nearby hostel is 24hr convenience store, fast food chain Tapemok, souvenirs shops, Starbucks, and many restaurants and cafe.||||Surrounded by bus stops ,this place is easier to get bus to main tourist area,||||We booked comfort double room , it's spacious (20m2), there's wardrobe with loads hangers, big mirror, balcony with city view, many electric sockets. The only odd things is iron stairs to nowhere.||||Shared bathroom is clean and suffice for all guest.||||Kitchen is modern and complete with cooking utensil, toaster, stove , refrigerator, microwave, tea/coffee machine, and also some kind of vending machine. More like you need to ask the receptionist to buy it.||||The minus are: a long walk to Sapsan railway station (around 10-15mins) , no room slippers provided , hostel located on 2nd floor and to get there need to climb narrow and dingy...

В хостеле грязно и воруют. К кражам персонал относится безразлично, будто так и должно быть, сравнивая хостел с метро. Так что чувствовать себя "как дома" вы не сможете.

Мы жили в двухместном номере Simple Hostel Nevsky с прекрасным видом на Невский проспект, но, к сожалению, видом в полной красе налюбоваться не смогли, так как из-за грязных окон ничего не было видно. Решили на время отпуска не обращать на это внимание, а просто отдохнуть и гулять по любимому городу.

Что действительно испортило все впечатление о хостеле, так это воровство и отношение сотрудников к такого рода инцидентам. У нас украли сыр и фуагру, привезенные из Франции в подарок семье. Общая стоимость – около 50 евро. В хостеле прописаны правила пользования общим холодильником: подписывайте пакеты фамилией и датой размещения, – что мы и сделали. На следующий день, мы обнаружили в холодильнике пустой пакет.

Обратились к администратору с целью оповещения, что у них в хостеле воруют и что гостям неприятно об этом узнавать постфактум. В ответ мы получили пустое безразличие и слабые аргументы. Администратор считает, что мы должны ожидать кражу, так как кухня хостела – "общественное место" (об этом должны предупреждать при въезде). Например, администратор сказал: “Вы же не оставляете кошелек в метро” или “Это такая культура у посетителей хостела. Даже у сотрудников хостела воруют еду". Хостел в одночасье превратился в общественный транспорт, в котором мы ночуем и еще при входе разуваемся и надеваем тапочки.

Из разговора с администратором мы поняли, что воровство в этом хостеле регулярная штука. Так что подумайте дважды, прежде чем заселяться. Быть обворованным вызывает очень неприятные мысли, а чувство обмана не покидает долго. Крайне обидно, что хостел ничего не хочет делать для решения этой проблемы.

Важно заметить, что мы пришли предупредить администратора о воровстве, чтобы владельцы хостела попытались решить существующую проблему. Мы предложили повесить плакаты, оповещающие гостей хостела, о том, существует проблема краж и по отношению к ворам хостел не будет терпимым. Гости хотя бы дважды подумают оставлять что-то в холодильнике или нет. Также, в хостеле есть камеры, кроме кухни (хм, если воровство является значительной проблемой, то почему камер нет на кухне?). В итоге, мы повесили на холодильнике рукописные таблички, предупреждающие о возможном воровстве, которые сняли к следующему утру.

Дорогие друзья, в хостеле Simple Hostel Nevsky вы встретите: грязные окна, воровство, безразличие сотрудников, а также, не забывайте, что это метро: не оставляйте вещи без присмотра, но обязательно разувайтесь при входе.
