The only good thing about this hotel is the location. It is very central located, with access to many restaurants. Unfortunately, pretty much everything else about the hotel was unpleasant. It is important to note that this hotel is very small. It is located in a housing building, in which there are no elevators and the reception is in a hallway. When we arrived the male staff member which greeted us was very unwelcoming and unfriendly. However, the female staff members which were present during the rest of the week were friendlier.
The rooms were small and not particularly clean. There were hairs in the bed, and the towels were old and had holes in them. The bathroom was really really small, and the shower was a bit dirty as well. The water which came out of the shower smelled like wet dogs, which made showering not very pleasant. The water also didn’t drain, which the hotel solved after a couple of days, but only after we had mentioned it multiple times.
One of our rooms was on the top floor, which got really hot, although it wasn’t even 20 degrees outside. There was air-conditioning in the room, which hardly worked at all. When on, the room would not cool off even after a couple of hours. The hotel is also very noisy, as doors can be heard opening and closing. The bed was small, but not very uncomfortable. However, the curtains were not enough to cover the entire window, which is a problem when you stay there during the white nights, since it doesn’t really get dark at all. Therefore, we all had to buy a sleeping mask around the corner. Lastly, the breakfast was awful. The breakfast is situated in a café next to the hotel, but you can only choose from 3 types of breakfast. These are quite small and not tasty at all. The breakfast gets old really fast if you stay there for multiple nights.
We also had to communicate before our stay with the hotel by email. They answered very unprofessionally, or sometimes not at all, until we send a second email asking for their response.
Overall this hotel is not worth the price for what they offer, as only the location is good. In Moscow we stayed in a central located hotel for a similar price which was on a different level from this one. I would not...
Read moreMy Booking.com reservation was fraudulently cancelled||I booked Piterskaya Club hotel on April 13, 2017 via Booking.com for 2 nights – Room type: Suite with Balcony. Price for 2 nights (incl. 18% VAT) 9400 Rubles (~$160.00)||I arrived to Piterskaya Club hotel on August 25, 2017. I was told right away that my booked room wasn’t available for me because of technical reasons. They offered me another room in the same building, but of lower class and with no balcony. I didn’t have much choice, but to take this room since I didn’t have another place to stay in St. Petersburg.||When I asked about price, they told me they would give me 5% discount.||On the same day I received email that my reservation via Booking.com has been cancelled because of my invalid credit card.||I checked Piterskaya hotel website and found out that the price of the room I got was 30% less comparing to the suite with balcony I reserved initially. I called Booking.com the next day with questions about the room change and “my invalid card”, and the answer I got from them was “SINCE THE RESERVATION HAS BEEN CANCELLED, WE CAN’T HELP YOU”.||Since that moment I had to try to resolve my problem with hotel clerk by myself. I requested 30% discount, and at the date of my checkout (Aug. 27) I spent 2 hrs. in the hotel lobby while hotel clerk communicated via email to his reservation department. Finally I received 18% discount.||AND. The final point!||Hotel clerk retrieved my credit card information from his reservation department, and I was able to verify it. I VERIFIED THAT MY CREDIT CARD DATA I PROVIDED IN APRIL TO THEM WAS ABSOLUTELY CORRECT (Including expiration date, verification code and number). I used this card on August 27 to pay for my staying in their hotel. There was no problem with my...
Read moreThe only plus is the location, at city center within walking distance to Ermitage, and also to Moscow train station (Moskovskaya boksal). Everything else was very negative, starting from rooms wich were small, noisy, smelly, and did absolutely not agree with photos advertised on websites. Economy rooms face an internal courtyard or alley and the smell from the kitchen below was unbearable. Could not open windows and the a/c did not work properly. Bathroom was very tiny, the wash basin was the smallest i have ever seen and the venting did not work properly, we had to keep the bathroom door closed due to the smell. No cable or sat tv, only local tv and of course, in russian. Supposedly rooms are non smoking, but ours smelled strongly of cigarettes so we requested a room change which was denied. Initially, the night clerk promised another room for the next day, but came the following day, we were told that it was not possible. When asking to speak with a manager we were even denied a phone number, only e-mail contact! Staff is very young and seems unexperienced, also with poor english. Wi-fi was free but worked intermittently, at nights it was not possible to connect. Included breakfast is served at the next door cafe but is very limited and with no variation, everyday the same menu. Hotel charged us for visa registration. Overall everything seems to need maintenance. Last but not least, there is no elevator, and the hotel is located in 2nd, 3rd, 4th floors shared with other offices. Not good for elderly tourists and/or heavy luggage. Definitely not staying again...
