Skipper Hotel — Hotel in Kaliningrad

We stayed here during the world cup. English was spoken overall pretty well. The front desk spoke excellent English. The breakfast was 5 star including champagne. The food was amazing. Beautiful dining room as well. The room was nice. The bed was comfortable enough. There was a nice balcony and we enjoyed opening the doors and looking out. Minibar and TV are in room as well. If I ever went back to Kaliningrad, I would absolutely stay here again. The manager did not speak English but he was still awesome and made sure we were taken care of. The guy working nights and long hours at the reception desk was the bomb. Central located, very closed to historic place of Kaliningrad, near the tomb of philosoph Immanuel Kant. Hotel itself is quite good, few small things like a very hot air in the corridors (didn't understood - was it lack of ventilation or saving money for airco's???), falling tails around elevator of third level, fastened with two wooden sticks... maked stay in hotel a little bit uncomfortable. I advice to have ready moskito's reppelents, because hotel is on the river side. Also, reception of hotel is very strenght regarding check-out, have extra 5-10 minutes for waiting your room will be checked by roomgirls. No breakfasts in hotel, however hotel offers breakfast in the near restaurant (caffee) for a quite a high amount. We got only hotel stay...

A peaceful view to the riverbank from the balcony, city noise can hardly be heard. Nice island with a park is in sight and reachable in a 5-minute walk. Other city attractions are also not too far and may be visited without use of transport (although a tram stop is right by the hotel entrance).||||The hotel is neat and clean.
