I made a reservation at the Park Hyatt Jeddah in September 2022 for a stay from March 17th to March 21st… on March 7th I get an email from the Ritz Carlton Jeddah that my reservation was cancelled, puzzled by this email I contacted the Ritz and was advised that the hotel I was originally booked at rebooked me then ultimately cancelled my stay at the Ritz. Upon contacting the Park Hyatt I was told “a government institution “ booked the rooms that was the first of many lies, the Formula 1 race was the reason they overbooked the hotel, they offered me no comprable accommodations to match the level of the park Hyatt Jeddah after rejecting. 2 hotels they offered. They said they found a “5 star” hotel and would offer me complimentary airport pickup ….. the “5star” Elaf Galleria. Is NOWHERE CLOSE TO A 5* hotel ,airport pickup , we waited an hour and 40 minutes for the driver to show up!!…… upon checking in to the Elaf Galleria I presented my passport and credit card as I have done in over 40 countries visited , they said they didnt need the credit card! …the first room we received was FILTHY no hand towels, stains on floor fingerprints on light switches etc, we were shown to another room that had a terrible stench of mildew, we were shown a 3rd room that as we approached. Had a house keeper spraying some sort of deodirizer that was soo strong we had to ask them to open the window to the. Room, it was an interior room overlooking a courtyard. My wife has underlying health conditions and should not be placed into situations like that. I made that known to the front desk they didn’t seem to care..During this time I called the Park Hyatt Jeddah numerous times telling them. These accommodations were unacceptable and to find another hotel NOTE: there were a few rooms available at the Ritz and the intercontinental all the person on the phone could tell me was “ it’s the weekend no mangers are around to make that decision , someone will call you back on Sunday” here it is a week later and no manager has contacted me
Hyatt overbooked hotel or sold my room at a higher rate and my wife and I are the ones to suffer the inconvenience and the cost to stay at what is at best. A 3 star hotel , the best part is that hotel has the same nightly rate as the park Hyatt , with no Red Sea view, located ina commercial areas instead of being an actual resort.
During this trip we started in Marriot in Giza and the Waldorf Astoria Kuwait both of these locations impeccable service!!
Calls/emails to park Hyatt Jeddah and to Hyatt corporate have been useless, this is no way to treat any customer , Hyatt has failed in all aspects for this booking, poor communication , zero accountability and overall lack of any human decency to do what is right
I am attaching photos of this “5 star hotel” so that you can see what Hyatt considers something that is on...
Read moreWe booked a table for a family of six by phone (Hotel) for the 31.12.2017 and got confirmation that 'al a card menu' at the restaurant is no problem. When we arrived the Restaurant Manager denied this option and instead was pushing us for an open buffet selection. We refused, he offered us a 5 selections of the 'al a card menue' and we decided to stay. At the end the full 'al a card menu’ was available! Our order was taken by the restaurant manager himself, who tried again to convince us for the open buffet selection again. Nevertheless the evening started well and the views from the terrace were nice.
For the start we received a bread selection (from the open buffet!) and two drinks out of five, from which one was not what we have ordered and it was returned. Our six year daughter got the cocktail as a compliment the last was very 'sour'. The second drink was wrong too and returned. The restaurant manager was not seen anywhere at that time. In the meantime the restaurant turned on the music (Spotify playlist from 2016!!!), the volume at a level were every conversation was killed instantly. It took a while before it was switched off later (too late).
After one hour our main course was served and one of our six orders was not as per our selection! The restaurant manager admitted to make a mistake and we accepted. The food was OK, but definitely not worth 150-180 SAR each. There are much better places, of course not with such view (Jeddah Fountain). A few minutes later the 'Kitchen Chef' apologised at our table and offered free restaurant desert for us. Why the kitchen chef and not the restaurant manager, who clearly made no mistake at all? Please note, that the three drinks were still pending, one hour into or visit and main course was almost over.
The complimentary hotel desert: was a selection of fruit (collected from the buffet - which was closed at that time!), after I took photos of the restaurant comolimanty proposal, an additional small selection of Lebanese sweets was served together with a chocolate cake. The overall bill with 1050 SAR was not worth the dreadful service and the Park Hyatt should feel ashamed.
The complete service und problem handling of a 5-star hotel restaurant was pathetic for such a place, name and restaurant. The Park Hyatt Jeddah has no style or grace in such situation, the hole situation was handled completely incompetent and unprofessional. The restaurant manager was clearly not able to fill and fit in his position at all, our visit was a deserter!
We will never visit the Park Hyatt Jeddah again and we will continue to share our experience of the Park...
Read moreI bave beeb to 19 countriesaround the world and this was the worst hotel experience I ever had. It it not very clean as it is extremely expensive for nothing. I booked a sea view room and when I arrived they do not even smile they do not welcome you. they make you feel like you are invading them. what was worse is that they put me in a garden view. i should put half of my body out of window and let my wife hold my legs not to fall to be able to see the sea. However, I told them that my booking is a sea view and they said we only have suites for sea view. I then made some calls to either get a sea view or cancel my booking. in about 30 minutes the manager Asim came and as usual he didnt smile at all just like his other empolyees and told me " Sir, just NOW we have free sea view room.". Obviously it is not true as the hotel is empty. they customers are us and some ghosts. To add, the seats at the sea and at the fointains are not free. you are not allowed to sit anywbere unless you buy something minimum of $37. I brought my coffee and sat with someone and suddenly they came and said not allowed. what is your name? and they wrote my in. piece of paper and went to charge me. how weird. the facilities need golf car to go to it and once they drop you off you have to find someone to deliver you to your room. simply no services. in addition, I was at the buffet at night browsing the dinner and when i found out it is very expensive i had dinner outside. surprisingly in the morning i saw the same kinds of dinner put for breakfast. i do not recommend you going there at all. it is the only bad thing as a tourist in Jeddah. good luck. I attached a picture of how...
