Domaine Les Rochers — Hotel in La Digue

My wife and I wanted to visit La Digue in the Seychelles but there’s such a lot of accommodation that we didn’t know where to start. Domaine Les Rochers popped up on the search and so we decided to book 3 nights there.| |What a great decision that turned out to be. The booking process was easy and after letting Costas (the owner, along with his wife Paula) know our arrival time he said that he would meet us off the ferry. As good as his word, there he was with a golf buggy and drove us the short distance to his property.| |Wow! He turned off the main street into a tropical garden oasis which was to be our home for the next few days. Peaceful and tranquil is the only way to describe it and we were certainly impressed. A cold drink followed by an introduction to the island and Costas then took us through the garden to our accommodation. We had booked an apartment which turned out to be one of only two in a relatively new building called Takamaka, named after the trees which grow round about. The whole site only has two apartment buildings and perhaps three bungalows and so it certainly isn’t crowded. We were on the first floor with a long balcony overlooking the garden, a huge bedroom with a sitting area and a large bathroom with an impressively sized shower. Oh, and we also had a separate fully equipped kitchen which even has a Nespresso machine – Costas said that as he liked his coffee he felt that his guests should be able to enjoy a good cup as well! Seriously, the attention to detail is extremely high and we really couldn’t come up with anything which we might need that wasn’t provided.| |La Digue isn’t large and cycling is the preferred form of transport – not surprisingly, Costas had lots of bicycles available to choose from. It seems that he and Paula have thought of everything. The property is close to shops and restaurants and probably no more that 100 mts or so from the sea. A bonus is that it’s all flat without a hill in sight unless you choose to venture a bit further from home.| |Although island life is slow our 3 nights passed by very quickly and then Costas was on hand to drive us back to the ferry. Many people can feel the acceleration of time and constant busyness in business, I am one of them.. To my regret and shame, I did not have time to leave a review on Booking when I was on holiday in this place. Now I want to fix it! In my memory, I only had the best and most pleasant impressions from this place, the atmosphere and the hosts! Firstly, the excellent location - within walking distance from the port, food establishments from 1-10 minutes. And what an amazing garden inside, the birds were singing! 😍 I rented a bike from the owner at a great price and traveled around many places on it - distant beaches, a famous park. Secondly, wonderful apartments - clean, cozy, in style 🥰 Here I tried the most delicious Avocado in my life! A set of fruits, breakfast products were waiting for me in my own kitchen. Thirdly, but in the center of attention is the owner Costas, friendly and helpful. The place will tell a lot about the owner, I think many will agree with me. And this is truly a magnificent place to relax and recharge with wonderful feelings!😍 Also, the owner upgraded my room level without extra charge, since it was available🥰 Special thanks for this!

Everything was wonderful for me here!😍 I rarely say this (since I want to travel to many places in the world), but I still want to return to the Seychelles, and I would be happy to stay in this...

Während unseres Seychellen-Island-Hopping-Urlaubes machten wir auch in dem 10 Monaten zuvor gebuchten "Domaine les Rochers Apartments & Bungalows" für fünf Tage Station.||Nur ein paar Gehminuten vom Hafen entfernt liegt dieses kleine Paradies, in zweiter Reihe, direkt hinter der hiesigen Kindertagesstätte / Kindergarten.|Dort angekommen wurden wir von Costa, dem Gastgeber, einem gebürtigen Griechen, mit einem wunderbaren, glasklaren Englisch und erfrischendem Kokosnusswasser empfangen.||In seiner aufgrund aktuellen Bauarbeiten improvisierten Rezeption, welche jedoch sehr geschmackvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet war, hieß er uns richtig herzlich willkommen.|Man merkt ihm und seiner Frau Paula, welche die Anlage sowie die Möbel der Zimmer als Architektin selbst entwarf, sofort an, dass diese tolle Gastfreundschaft von Herzen kommt und nicht gespielt ist !||Während die Koffer durch einen Mitarbeiter schon einmal in das Apartment gebracht wurden, erhielten wir einen ca. 10 minütigen Vortrag über die Insel mit allerlei sehr nützlichen Informationen sowie einer kleinen Karte mit den wichtigsten Eintragungen.||Die äußerst gepflegte Anlage vermittelte bereits den Eindruck, dass man sich hier im Paradies befinden muss. |Als wir unser Apartment "Kaz Rochers" im Obergeschoss betraten, war es dann wie in einem Traum !|Alles sehr stil- & geschmackvoll mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet und dekoriert.|In der separaten Küche, welche wirklich alles für einen angenehmen Aufenthalt beinhaltet, lag ein Starterkit an Getränken und Lebensmittel bereit.|Auch der daneben befindliche Obstkorb mit einheimischen Früchten wurde täglich aufgefüllt. ||Das dreiköpfige Reinigungsteam das täglich für eine Stunde (!) anrückte, um das Apartment wieder in absoluten Hochglanz zu versetzten, damit man auf dem Boden essen könnte, wusch uns sogar das in der Küche benutzte Geschirr ab und versorgte es.|Das für den grandiosen Service hinterlassene Trinkgeld wurde nicht angerührt, erst nachdem ich einen Zettel beilegte, wurde es angenommen !||Unsere Gastgeber hatten bei Fragen auch immer sofort ein offenes Ort und nahmen sich immer die nötige Zeit, diese zu beantworten.|Ebenfalls hatten sie auch den ein oder anderen (Geheim-) Tipp für uns parat und managten diese auch direkt für einen (wie z.B. die Sonnenuntergangstour mit Essen und Transfer für umgerechnet 40 Euro).||Von dem zuvor erwähnten Kindergarten bekam man nichts mit, des weiteren befindet sich ein gut sortierter Supermarkt ebenfalls in unmittelbarer Nähe zu dem Anwesen(ca. 100 Meter) entfernt. ||Am Tag der viel zu schnell gekommenen Abreise (Check out bis 10.00 Uhr) hat man die Möglichkeit, in der "Departure-Lounge" (welche zudem über eine Toilette sowie einer separaten Dusche verfügt) die Zeit bis zur Abfahrt der Fähre zu überbrücken, wo man ebenfalls wieder mit kalten Kokosnusswasser versorgt / verabschiedet wird.|Eigentlich wollte uns Costa sogar noch an den Hafen rüber fahren, jedoch war sein Caddy kaputt.||Alles in allem waren dies die schönsten fünf Tage, welche ich in einem Apartment...
