Hotel EMPIRE — Hotel in Trnava

This was an excellent value for money hotel! It has on site tennis facilities (indoor & outdoor) and regularly holds tournaments. We didn't book for tennis, England were playing Slovakia in Trnava and we wanted a local hotel. Only €70 with an England match on and that included breakfast! Rooms are well appointed and many have a balcony overlooking the tennis courts (ours did). Toiletries are provided in the well appointed en suite bathrooms. Breakfast was good value with hot egg, sausage & bacon and the usual continental fare. Staff spoke good English and were very helpful. There is an onsite bar/cafe outside alongside the tennis courts, this closes at 2000 but not an issue as the town centre is a fifteen minute walk or a few euros in a taxi. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality, value and services offered by this hotel, if I ever find myself in Trnava again, I will definitely stay...

It’s an expensive hotel which does not meet the expectations. I had an apartment booked here and the problems found so far were the following: the heater in the apartment barley works, set it to 30 degrees and it didn’t go past the 23 degrees mark even tho I left it on at the highest fan setting the whole night. The kettle in the room couldn’t be used because it was dirty as hell on the interior, tried to clean it but it was full of limestone, after I boiled some water to see if I can clean it better, the water was dirty. The restaurant was supposed to be open until 10 in the evening but when I tried to go there at 7:40 in the evening it was closed, and also no one at the reception picked up the phone. You can find this hotel in a road together with an university. From without it seems a sport palace but it's including hotel and restaurant. Big parking outside, you have to drive in a courtyard.|I like this hotel, modern and from the alley you see through a long window the covered tennis fields below, the same as in the restaurant.|The rooms are really enjoyable, complete and nicely furnished, but in my opinion the toilet floor was not properly cleaned, please pay attention to the details.|Breakfast is ok but nothing special, poor...
