I wanted to love this place but we didn't enjoy our stay. The receptionist was rude upon arrival. We stayed in a private room which had no fan or air con and we were given duvets - in mid August, temperature outside was 40c. Added to that the hostel is opposite an ice cream parlour/bar which plays loud music from 6am to 11pm, making a comfortable night of sleep impossible. The room lacked basic touches that would've made the stay more comfortable e.g. a couple of hooks to hang wet towels, a bedside table, sheets instead of winter duvets. The shared kitchen and shared bathrooms were clean but the shower didn't drain and so it had to be switched off for a bit every minute or so to avoid flooding. Read moreGreat hostel with all the accommodations you need in a beautiful alpine town. We were on a 4 day hut to hut hike in Triglav but our last day accommodations was canceled last minute. We were lucky that House Budkovic had places left. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and answered all our (uninformed) questions with patience. The hostel is right next to a bakery and comes with well equipped kitchen and dining room. The bed were comfy and dormitories quite roomy. Town itself looked quite nice to explore but we didn't have the time unfortunately....

The shared kitchen is clean, inviting and well stocked [herbs, almost all the cooking devices you'll need and some extras people left behind.]
