In my opinion, this is not really a 4-star hotel — it’s more of a solid 3-star. The nightly rate felt inflated, likely due to the location rather than the actual quality of the hotel.
The beds were old, and the pillows were very worn and lumpy. The air-conditioning in my room did not function properly — it only produced a constant low hum without cooling or heating the room. The main light was overly bright and had a harsh white tone, more suited to an office than a bedroom, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable.
The bathroom was clean and generally decent, but the towels were frayed and clearly past their prime.
The overall décor of the hotel felt outdated, with brown and grey carpets that looked like they belonged in the 1970s or 1980s.
Management decisions were questionable — for example, they scheduled drilling to install new air-conditioning units in the breakfast hall during breakfast service. The noise was extremely loud and unpleasant, and it is simply unacceptable to have such work taking place while guests are trying to eat.
On the positive side, breakfast was excellent — a highlight of our stay and something we still talk about. The staff were friendly and the hotel...
Read moreThe hotel has been refurbished since my previous stay.I liked the 1980s styling of the reception and breakfast areas, but this is now replaced by cheaper materials which may suit more “ modern” tastes, but is in |no clear sense an improvement. My room (large;a suite) had however, undergone a definite upgrade ,with new carpet and bathroom fittings.I was very pleased to have a large bath and really useful basin. The excellent wardrobe and other furniture had survived the re-vamp.| The new beds were long and comfortable, although the sheets were too small.Likewise, the provision of towels was a little sparse.| There was a fridge ( empty) ,and effective air conditioning.I was surprised not to find a kettle or coffee machine in a four star hotel.| Breakfast was of a good standard in all respects. Service at other times was a little lacking. There was a bar,but with restricted hours, and no source of hot drinks in the evening.| With some management changes this could be an excellent hotel, especially in view of the pleasant quiet location near the delightful walk up...
Read moreWe stayed 3 nights at this hotel in a queen bed room.
Pros : location, the hotel is located very close to the city center so you can easily walk everywhere private outside parking (10 eur per night) as mentioned in other comments the entry for the parking is a bit confusing as there is also a local parking next to the hotel (use the parking entrance all the way to the left and then drive left again to get in front of the hotel and park there)
Cons : our room was small but ok, it was also recently renovated. BUT both my girlfriend and I could not sit correctly on the toilet (she is 1m55..) as it was built too close to the heating. This is unacceptable as it was clearly built this way without consideration for this issue. We had no hot water on the second and last morning day of our stay. We mentioned it upon checkout and got an apology. Not sure if this is a recurring issue or a just a temporary issue.
Unfortunately due to those issues we will not choose this...
