It is a wonderful hotel. Family suite is very spaceous. Beds were comfortable, and nice to sleep in, with very good ergonomic pillows. Our kids were thrilled with the plush pillows and complimentary blankets. We just loved the big, and perfectly designed bathroom. Staff at the reception was friendly and ready to please. We give the hotel 5* and both thumbs up every time.
Not quite pleased with the restaurant, though. We went for a family fine dining experience, and got an overall "fine dining wannabe tretment". We ordered the 6-course gastronomical menu (which is priced the same as in fine dining, Michellin star restaurants in Slovenia). The great idea with a nicely put menu was in some parts executed poorly. Fine dining is not just about throwing fancy ingredients on one's plate... Most courses were over-seasoned with big-grained salt, which is off-putting when you eat seafood that is salty on its own. House ravioli was over-cooked. Pearl barley black risotto tasted as no pearl barley had ever set foot in the dish. The fried ravioli was bland and burnt. Aioli sauce, lobster espuma, parmegan cheese and chantrelles were used in too many courses (one should be enough). No complimentory wine suggestions. No lemon water or wet tissues to clean our hands after opening scampi and seashells. After just 3 courses we actually ran out of our cuttlery and had to use our kids' cuttlery. They also ran us for our money and charged us 2 kids' menus instead of just one with an extra soup order (that we speciffically made clear a couple of times while ordering). The main kids' course was literally divided into half in front of us... At least we got 2 ice-cream scoups (being the most expensive scoups in the country by all standards).
The best part of our fine dining experience were the desserts that were tasty and nice to look at. Furthermore, a delicious seafood pasta, which we also ordered, was top notch. Cutos to the chef de poisson at the blue egg grill to properly cook all the seafood as well. Fish and seashells were grilled to...

Though the hotel might appear to be a plastic business hotel, it comes with a wide range of amenities and facilities, and a touch of style, that makes it suitable for a long leisure stay too. At the price we paid, it was a great value for money!
LOCATION: Lovely location next to the beautiful Drava River, with easy access to old town and all bars and restaurants
DINE + DRINK: Cool rooftop restaurant that comes with a terrace offering fantastic views of the Drava river. Great place to chill with a coffee or drink. However the spread of food for breakfast was not that exciting, and they could certainly do better.
ROOM: We stayed in one of the Studio Suite rooms, so this review is based on that; VIEW: Sweet view of the River and cityscape; SIZE: Very spacious room ; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part to put me to sleep; BATHROOM: Stand in shower; TOILETRIES: Excellent spa quality cosmetics
FACILITIES: Excellent Full-fledged fitness center that is loaded with a wide range of weights, machines, and Cardio equipment. Since it is open to local members, it was as good as any urban gym could get! One of the highlights of the hotel, absolutely!
SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all our needs with a smile and made us feel at home and well taken care of.
HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free high-speed Wi-Fi that works well all over the property. Big Plasma TV screen dishing out dozens of channels spanning sports, news, music, movies and a wide variety of entertainment in...
Read moreLocated very centrally and there’s the benefit of underground parking. Don’t expect much in terms of style - the design (outside and the interior) would easily win a price for blandness and they seem to cater for the corporate conference business. The room was of a good size, and the bed comfortable. The best part of the hotel is the rooftop terrace, where breakfast is served (or more precisely where you serve yourself breakfast) and the restaurant, which is clearly a notch above the usual fare with a focus on Adriatic sea food. It’s also a great place for an aperitif overlooking the river Drava below. So the three stars are for the hotel, the four stars for the Terasa Restaurant.||There are some peculiarities that are worth mention: I counted three different lifts that I had to use: one from the garage to the reception level, a second from the reception down to a lower level, and a third from that lower level to the floor with my room. ||Once inside the room the temperature was set centrally to 24 degrees. You need to call reception (or in my case physically return to reception as nobody answered the phone) to be told that the room temperature and fan speed are all controlled centrally. Not only that, raising or lowering the window blinds is also controlled from the central Politbureau, probably only reachable via yet another lift. On the other hand you are free to choose your TV...
