Hotel Lent — Hotel in Maribor

We booked a basic room for our stay. It suited all our needs. Clean towels were supplied every day, and bins were emptied. Our room had a bath which was wonderful for us. It also had a shower. Staff was very helpful and friendly and helped with bags showing us to our room. Even fetched our car as we had used the hotel on-site parking for €12 a day. Staff spoke many different languages. The hotel provided us with maps in order. We were able to visit all the sites we wanted to. Hotel lent is perfectly situated to reach all you need within a few minutes' walk. I've been staying here for three times now, for business trips, and while the hotel is nicely located by the river, it is also situated next to the main road, which is very noisy. That would't have been a problem, if I could have breathed inside with the windows closed, but that wasn't the case. I've been to two different rooms during those three stays, and both rooms had a very strong perfume smell (to cover up some other smell perhaps?) that left me with a headache and dizziness the morning after. Unhelpful and misleading!

I had to cancel my booking. The hotel's cancellation conditions stated, that this was possible until 3 days prior to arrival. My arrival should have been on Saturday, and when I tried to cancel it on Wednesday they told me that this is not possible and that I had to pay the whole price. They argued that they meant 3 days plus the arrival date. If this is the case they should state it this way.
