This hotel is advertised as a 4* boutique hotel just on the edge of Ptuj old town centre (2 minute walk). The building is a handsome large townhouse on a small main road a short walk from the centre of old Ptuj. A small parking area for a few cars is available and a small courtyard to the side for a drink outside.||Interior decor is classic and suits the age and style of the building. We stayed as a couple for 4 nights in what appears to be the best room above the lobby at the front of the hotel. Rooms are tastefully decorated with clean en suite shower-rooms. A small tv is in the room but there was no hotel wifi in our room or telephone. There is no sauna , swimming pool or leisure facilities.||Our room had not been vacuumed properly before our arrival and the room was not cleaned during our stay until we requested it. It also had water stains on the ceiling and several light bulbs were not working. Traffic noise from the small but important road can be heard in the room despite secondary windows.||Occupancy appeared low during our stay, we were the only guests except for one couple on 1 day. ||Breakfast was basic but decent quality with 3 continental options that staff asked you to choose at breakfast for the following day. Meals do not appear to be available.||The young staff were friendly, helpful and were apologetic and responded to the deficiencies raised with them. The apparent manager or owner did not introduce herself on the 2 occasions we saw her.||The room rate was discounted for the length of stay and problems raised and was ~€80 / night including bed and breakfast and taxes. ||The impression is more of a stylishly decorated 3* bed and breakfast with limited facilities rather than 4*...
Read moreThe hotel is definitely value for money as we paid 49 euro for a double. We were put in a triple. I find most hotels in Europe to warm and this was no exception. Opening the window was an option except there was a party going on downstairs. We were put in the attic rooms away from the party but I could still hear the noise. It didn't stop my partner from falling asleep. The attic rooms have light shining in them from the lights outside which is annoying if you like total darkness to sleep like I do. The beds are very firm and a double bed is clearly 2 beds pushed together. There were numerous toiletries supplied with the exception of soap for the hand basin. There were lolly wrappers on the ground near the bed from the last customer. Breakfast was good. It was eggs, croissants, bread, jams and cheese and meat. The staff were...
Read moreA young couple seemed to be running the place. They need to learn to smile when meeting new travellers to the hotel. We were directed to room 11on third floor and had a large case plus 2 carry on cases and being of senior years I would have expected an offer of assistance from the bloke on reception. Not a chance! The room could have been cleaner - long black hairs in the shower room. We stayed 2 nights and the beds were not made up / room tidied fo4 the second night. Breakfast was poor eg no breakfast / black tea available. Parking limited. In its favour was the great location fo...
