I’ve never experienced such harsh treatment as a tenant. My electricity was unlawfully disconnected without notice — even though the rent was only 3 days late. This was done without following any legal procedure, which amounts to abuse of power.
I submitted formal requests for reconnection, explaining that I work from home and rely on electricity for my livelihood. My emails were ignored. I followed up multiple times, yet no one responded. Instead, on the very same day, I received an email threatening to terminate my lease and repost my unit if I don't pay within 7 days, demanding I should vacate the building by the 31st. And threatening again that I will not get my deposit.
This action has not only sabotaged my work but has also affected my mental and emotional wellbeing. I have missed important business meetings and client engagements simply because I couldn’t iron clothes or charge my phone. The complete silence from management — despite the urgency and fairness of my requests — is nothing short of inhumane🤞
To make matters worse, since I moved into this two-bedroom apartment in November, only one room has ever been usable. The second bedroom has had a persistent, unresolved leak, which I’ve reported four times. Each time I was told the issue was resolved, but every time it rains, the room floods again — leaving the space smelling, the walls corroded, unpainted, and full of exposed brick. It currently looks like an active construction site. Still, I continued to pay the full rental amount without complaint for months.
Now, after enduring months of maintenance issues, paying full rent for an incomplete apartment, and maintaining good faith throughout, I am subjected to this severe and disproportionate treatment over a minor payment delay.
This experience has been nothing short of tenant abuse. I would not wish this on anyone. There is no dignity, no empathy, and no accountability in how this situation has been handled.
Its really sad to know that live easy has no Head quarters or any other offices, which lead to building managers taking matters into their own hands knowing very well that you will have nowhere else to cry for help since all contact we are provided with lead to them.

Read moreGave 1 star because there's no 0 or negative rating. This place is the worst. Ended up leaving within a few months because I just couldn't take it anymore. Here are a few issues a had with the place. The roaches: My good God, they were everywhere. After reporting the issue countless times, they came once to spray something in the apartment. Which did not help anyway, those things are everywhere. Regular fumigation would work, I guess they just dont care.
Water issues: Before I moved in, I was told that tenants are always informed when there will be issues with everything. Waking up and needing to get ready for work is a nightmare, and an inconvenience because what the hell. Not that there wouldn't be hot water, there's just no water period. And for some reason management gets mad when you ask them about this, on some they don’t work for Joburg water. So after being told that all issues will be communicated with the tenants now I must go to the website to see for myself if there is going to be any issues. A joke I tell you. They say they have back up power, but their pipes pressure isn’t enough to get the water to the top floors.
Laundry mat: never used it because the machines were always faulty. 4: Lifts: Always “out of service”
Noise: The students here don’t sleep. So if you’re preparing to move in here, lol prepare to all nighters will the young. The walls are also very thin, you will hear everything. I mean everything from your neighbours.

Live Easy Rivonia its a hell place to live at since they hired a new manager Jacob Sanderson, he is a bully, dectator and inconsiderate of other people, he terminates people's leases as he pleases when you contact the owner they will take forever to respond and they won't even sit down and hear the side of the story, he runs a business like he is running a tuckshop or day care center, they lure tanents by decorating and organizing the spaces where people see when they come to view while the crokroches are flooding the building, mold in the rooms, rooms get flooded with water at times pipe bursts to top it all they hire ibhubezi security compony that hires unprofessional employees and a desrespecful, arrogant zimbabwean guy to be the supervisor of the security's the guy don't even have qualifications or the required grades to work as security officers, he takes people's pictures as he wishes, they follow us to our doors to eves drop its creepy when you complain to the manager he doesn't even reply the emails, they get into our rooms without permission there is no privacy the list goes on and on.
