My partner and I stayed here for 5 days while I was visiting the University of Johannesburg in September of 2016. It turned out to be a wonderful venue on several counts. First, proximity to the University--just a short walk away. Second, a great conference center in the guest house, with the latest in technology and other amenities. Third, the food was good. Read moreI was very pleasantly surprised by this guest house. My room (Hemmingway) was very spacious. The bathroom was as large as some hotel rooms with a big shower and bath. The room had a sofa area for lounging, a kitchenette area, plenty of cupboard space and a private garden area with water feature. The whole house had beautiful light and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was plentiful and freshly made. They also served proper filter coffee. We paid less than £40 per night making it excellent value for money. If they had had a pool I would have never left the guest house. It's in a quiet leafy area with beautiful trees and birds. I'll definitely stay here again when I return to Johannesburg. Margaret also arranged a safari for us with Pilanesburg safaris. It...

Ask Margaret for a special South African dish, which almost looks like a falafel. She is what this place is about - warm and loving. Special mention for Jethro, the guy who could arrange a bottle of milk way past the bedtime. Will return to this...
