Campus Square in Auckland Park is a convenient and well-located shopping centre that caters perfectly to students and locals alike. Whether you're running errands, grabbing a quick bite, or just need a chill spot to hang out, Campus Square ticks most of the boxes.
The centre features a decent mix of stores — from big-name retailers like Pick n Pay and Clicks to food outlets such as Nando’s, KFC, and Debonairs. There’s also a Virgin Active gym, which makes it great for staying active right after class or work.
What I really appreciate is how accessible it is. Located right next to UJ (University of Johannesburg), it’s easy to walk to and has enough parking for those driving in. Security is present, which adds to the overall feeling of safety, though the area can get a bit crowded during peak hours.
One downside is that the centre could use a bit of an upgrade in terms of aesthetics and variety. It’s functional, but not necessarily the place you go to for a unique shopping or dining experience. Still, it gets the job done.
Overall, Campus Square is a practical hub for daily needs and a popular hangout spot for students...
Read moreI just had the worst experience today. After picking what I wanted to buy. I was told that they dont use the tap and pay using Samsung Pay because of fraud reasons and they only use the old school way of card payments. My arguements were 1. Why have a tap and pay point of sale system when you dont use it. Why not write on the door that they only take cash payments. 2. If you say tap and pay cannot be used because one can be using a fraudulent card, but for a card to be registered, you go through an authentication process with the bank. Someone can get someone's card and still use it to pay even if its not given to them. 3. Tap and pay system requires me to input my pin and hence its the same as a having the traditional card. In conclusion, I will call on Monday to the headoffice so as to clarify why they inconvinience us by putting up systems that arent utilised. They should know this is why people like me end up using online platforms. I am surely...
Read moreAbsolutely shocking place. I wouldn't use it if it weren't on my route. Full of students and loitering pedestrians from the taxi rank outside that seems to have consumed it. Main anchor tennants seem to send their worst performing staff here to give customers vacant stares in response to sales related questions. The upgraded Pick n Pay is possibly it's only drawcard, but there you'll queue for a lifetime whilst cashiers catch up on the events of the day with the taxi commuters passing through. And all this will cost you (R7 minimum?) for driving onto their premises - even if just for a drop off. On that, their parking pay stations only work half the time. The other half, you'll need to wait at the pay station while it's being cleared of cash and/or repaired.
I've had very, VERY much better shopping experiences in Manguzi (a village in deepest,...
