If I could give 10 stars for each of the rankings I would. Our stay at Brenton on the Rocks Guest House in Knysna was a stay to remember. The rooms were absolutely stunning with breathtaking views. The service was absolutely fantastic, the owner as well as the staff were great and very helpful. We originally booked 1 evening as we were driving back to Johannesburg from Cape Town but the moment we arrived we booked another evening. The breakfast they serve in the mornings are very tasteful and they have a variety. The ladies in the kitchen even made extra effort to make some flapjacks for my son for breakfast (he ate that plus his scrambled eggs and sausages). Again, emphasis on the service, amazing. It is also close to other beautiful views as well as a quick 2mim drive to the beach. If you are looking for a place to stay over in Knysna, Brenton on the Rocks Guest House should be right on the top of your list to stay and definitely book more than 1 evening! Thank you so much for your amazing service and friendliness, your guest house is definitely a bench mark for any other...
Read moreI stayed here with friends for three nights at the end of October 2017. There were four of us and we booked BEACH VILLA, a unit advertised for 6 to 8 people. The fourth room was an add on next to an openair area on the lower level. The room was neat and tidy but very musty and moldy smelling so much that we were unable to sleep there.First night we slept on the floor in the main living/dining room and the next day we were moved to a room in another villa. There were no outside chairs on the upper level patio. The kitchen lacked some basic equipment, e.g.coffee machine, cork screw etc. The dryer took forever to dry clothes. Also, if you are self driving it is a very steep drive to the complex and the garages. We had a van and it was quite something to get the car in the garage at BEACH VILLA. The view is beautiful and the units are attractive . I would not recommend BEACH VILLA for any more...
Read moreWe stayed at the Brenton on the Rock for two days. The room and bathroom were very large and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. Everything we needed was there: a coffee maker, refrigerator, shower amenities, etc. The view of the sea from the balcony was fantastic. The furniture is a bit dated and in need of renovation; the refrigerator had rust near the bottom of the door, and the wood veneer on the cabinets in the room and bathroom were showing signs of wear. The rooms in the main building are on the upper floors and are difficult to access for people with disabilities. The staff was very friendly. For breakfast, you had to mark your preference on a menu the day before. Unfortunately, there was only a selection of different egg variations with various...
