Disappointing Experience with Ilawu Group I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by Ilawu Group. I made a booking with them and was shocked to find that they had messed up my reservation. Despite funds being deducted from my account on November 4th, they insisted that I hadn’t paid and showed no apology for the mistake. This was incredibly frustrating, especially considering I had traveled all the way from Cape Town to Pietermaritzburg for this booking with my in-laws. Instead of an apology I was sternly told to their CBD branch which was no way our standard and also far from my family which added to the inconvenience and stress of the situation. Given the location I’m sure we had paid more for the initial reservation versus where we ended up. This lack of accountability and customer service is unacceptable, and I will certainly think twice before using their services again...

The room itself was clean, all the amenities were in place, and the shower had good hot water.||||However, the entire hallway and room had a strong smell of cigarettes, which was unpleasant. There was also what looked like an oil stain on the bed covers, which was off-putting. First occasion the request we made were not honored completely, the WiFi connection was poor, the tables are not fit for a conference room and are broken. The service is not consistent, we took a package where we were going to cater for our own food. First booking we ate with no issues and they supplied us with glasses and bowls. The second booking in the middle of our training the manager tells us we are not allowed to bring our own food and they won't give us glasses to drink with.
