Very very disappointed with the host Kevin who came back drunk and was mistreating his worker asking him why he allowed us to park our car inside. It was oweful scenario just like the master-slave relationship. I was working at the Kitchen table late the evening of 25th November 2024 as there was no table in my room of which I indicated to Juma the boy helping him. He came back looking drunk at about 21.30 pm and was harassing the worker by the swimming pool and questioning him - making him feel he is fortunate for having the job of working with him. I tried to keep my calm as I was listening to them and unable to concentrate on my work. He then walked into the Kitchen area and asked me why I was there. I told him am I here for work and unfortunately there is no table for work in my room. He said I should have checked what they offer before booking - adding that this is not a hotel but a guest house. His tone, behaviour and the previouse exchange he had with his worker made me so angry. He said I could go and work anywhere else but not in his Kitchen because that is his space yet it is the common kitchen space he reserves for breakfast and eating for guests. I requested him to reimburse us as of the next day because it is difficult to concentrate and work in an abusive environment. This man called Kevin is a nasty person and have no respect for people. He is an abuser and does not need to be operating a...

Read moreI stayed at Pinewood for a couple of days, then left to explore another part of Cape Town before ultimately returning for the rest of my trip. I simply saw no reason to stay elsewhere.||An entrance to Table Mountain National Park is a 5 minute walk, possibly the best pub in Cape Town is around the corner, you can get an Uber to Constantia winelands for 75 Rand, or equally reach the city for the same cost.||Kelvin, the owner, will help you plan your days if required and is always on hand to make your stay as pleasant as possible. He's also great company over a...
