Bayside Hotel 100 — Hotel in South Beach

🤮🤮🤮I recently stayed at Bayside in Durban for a work trip, and unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. The CBD area feels crowded and unsafe, which doesn’t create a welcoming first impression. The layout of the hotel is confusing, and the reception staff, while relaxed, didn’t provide much in terms of service or support.

The room I stayed in (Bayside 108: Unit 116) was in very poor condition. There was black mold on the bathroom ceiling, which caused an unpleasant odor and made the space feel unhygienic. The mold even spread onto the walls of the bedroom. Opening the window only made things worse, as the noise from heavy traffic outside was overwhelming — it felt as though the room was right on the street.

In terms of amenities, the experience was limited. While there is a Wimpy restaurant on-site (no room service or variety), the in-room facilities left much to be desired. The microwave was dirty, the kettle was questionable, and the air conditioning unit didn’t work at all, which made for an uncomfortable stay.

Wow this place always brings out the best it was my second time coming to the place firstly i booked an ordinary room then this time i booked a self catering room my partner and I are so inlove with it we don't regret being there, the friendly service from the staff thanks to a lady called Bongi or Bongiwe she was 👌💖 I think this will be my usual place if I go to Durban next time I'm planning to bring my toddler with I hope she also will love it.
