Malibu Bay Spur — Restaurant in South Beach

We are very sad today, having had such a lovely meal and service in December to having a horrid experience today. We arrived for breakfast at about 10.55am we asked for lemon water ,we asked for the breakfast menu and we were told hurry up breakfast was about to end, we answered, yes and she told us we better place our order right now as it was closing . We asked for lemon water ...never arrived we got ice water only. We asked for 2 unreal breakfasts, with extras toast , pork sausages , coffee ,my wife got hers and then we had to wait about 5 min before my meal arrived, swimming in oil...I called the waitress back who went to sort that problem out only to find when she returned the meal ...I had asked for soft eggs I had been given hard fried eggs after the lady manager brought back my plate of food no apology for the inconvenience for the food being taken away from the table twice, the next the waitress comes back to the table to say ,are you happy now , ????what type of approach is that. We had lots of flies flying around us and the waitress brought us a glass with mint in it , the problem with the mint was that it was black and the flies were sitting on it.

It was the 31st of January n it was mine and daughter’s birthday, we brought a cake and asked the waitress to bring it to our table later after eating. The place was just superb, the staff was amazing and the food was excellent. My daughter had a wonderful time and enjoyed every minute we spent there. Its a pity that I can’t upload the video where she was dancing with the staff and every table that was close to us they were singing and clapping for her. Our first time in Durban was amazingly fun and Malibu Bay Spur made it the best. Thanx to everyone at Malibu for making our birthday so special. May you continue being the best. Did I mention that we had to come back the next day? Yess we did! Same experience and same everything. Just that my daughter got a bit sick i think its because of the swimming we went earlier on the day. Thank you...

We went as a family of 14 people, including 5 kids for our evening meals over the long weekend. The food was on point, met the Spur standard but I am afraid the service was terrible. We waited too long for our order and the waitress kept missing order items and was forever absent from our tables, never even once did she come to check on us after she had served our meals, she was running around all over the place I felt so sorry for her because she had to attend to a crazy numerous tables alone, they were clearly under staffed and I found that disappointing because it was along weekend and surely the management would have anticipated a large crowd.
