From the moment we arrived at Jardin D’Ebene Guest House in Cape Town, we felt warmly welcomed by Christopher, who took the time to highlight the best walking destinations nearby on a map. This thoughtful introduction set a positive tone for our stay.
The guest house features five bedrooms we stayed in the Lion Room 🦁, and while it can get a bit noisy at times, it never felt overwhelming. Our room was impressively clean and equipped with both an air conditioning unit and a ceiling fan, ensuring a comfortable atmosphere.
One unique aspect of the washroom was the absence of a door, replaced by a traditional curtain. This setup may not be for everyone, but it did contribute to an open feel in the room. The shower was equipped with a rainfall showerhead alongside a handheld option. Although the water pressure was on the lower side, it was still adequate for a refreshing shower.
The highlight of our mornings was the complimentary breakfast, which offered a delightful variety of options. From rich lattes and fresh fruit platters to made-to-order omelets, pancakes, and croissants, everything was of excellent quality and truly enjoyable.
Additionally, the guest house provided a mini fridge stocked with sodas, sparkling and still water, as well as other reasonably priced beverages, which was a nice touch for those in need of a refreshment.
Safety is always a concern when traveling, and we appreciated that a security guard was present at the entrance each evening, providing an added sense of reassurance.
Overall, our stay at Jardin D’Ebene Guest House was a pleasant experience, combining comfort, quality service, and a great location. We would definitely recommend it to anyone...
Read moreOur itinerary gave us 6 nights in Cape Town, and we wanted an accommodation that was well located for convenient access to the central attractions and yet was quiet and comfortable, and where the host would be able to help us make plans and get around. We found all of this, and more, at Jardin. It is lovely, interesting, very comfortable. The breakfasts offered are fresh and varied and you are able to choose to suit your personal tastes. All of the basics are wonderful. But the most pleasant aspect was the host/owner and his staff. Roland has a naturally helpful nature. He is not just "doing his duty", but clearly loves being able to help you be comfortable and enjoy your stay. He listened carefully to us as we talked about what we like to do and see, and has given us excellent advice about what and how and when, and has freely made arrangements for tours and transportation---all of which turned out to be just what we wanted. Book in advance if you can---our experience is clearly the usual experience, and this small, lovely, pleasant, altogether sweet accommodation has a...
