As jy nou ooit gedroom het van ’n plek waar koffie en hemel in een teug saamkom, dan het jy nog nie by Puka Café gestop nie! Hierdie klein juweel in die stad laat jou smaakknoppies samba dans op tafel. Sodra jy instap, oorweldig varsgebakte croissants en pasgebroude koffie jou - wat jou laat voel asof jy in ’n wolk van geluk verdwaal het.

Die croissants by Puka Café is so donsig dat ek begin vermoed hulle gebruik ’n spesiale soort wolkdeeg. Elke hap gee jou daardie bevredigende “krispy-krunch” wat jou laat wonder of jy nie tog jou bed wil verruil vir ’n slaapplek in hul oond nie. (Dis seker onwettig, maar ’n mens mag net droom, nè?)

En dan, o griet, moet jy net die vanilje-cupcakes proe! Dis asof ’n engel in jou mond kom pirouette uitvoer terwyl ’n koor van suikersoet notas in jou ore speel. Hulle is sag, romerig, en lyk so mooi dat jy ’n oomblik saam met jou selfoon moet spandeer vir ’n mini fotosessie—voor jy dit verorber en jou tong in ’n mini-partytjie verander.

Maar wag, daar’s meer! Die spyskaart is so uiteenlopend dat jy ’n kaleidoskoop van keuses het. Instagram-tiete kan kies uit al wat ’n verslankingsdrankie, groen smoothie, of lae-koolhidraat-opsie is, terwyl jou vriend langs jou gretig ’n berg sjokolade-en-roomys waffels verorber. Dis soos ’n diaspora van dieet-planne onder één dak—en glo my, die pryse sal jou sak gesond en gelukkig laat voel.

Michael gaan jou dalk nie omhels as jy instap nie, maar sy kos maak op daarvoor. So, as jy op soek is na ’n plek waar jy boheemse koffie-genade kan beleef, gepaard met oorgenoeg croissants en cupcakes om jou soetdrome waar te maak—gooi daai motor in rat en mik reguit Puka toe! We had an incredible breakfast here! We over ordered but was so worth it to try their amazing chocolate croissant (something between a donut and a croissant? The proprietor said it’s a German style croissant. Divine whatever it is!) as well as their wraps. The train smash wrap was chock full of meat and goodies and the pesto wrap was excellent too. The pan fried potatoes that come on the side are a nice extra touch. Coffee was good and the table mountain views can’t be beat. Very friendly and helpful service would 100% make this my local if I lived in...

THIS PLACE WAS SO NICE AND SUPER AFFORDABLE! It’s located on the corner of Brunswick and it is such a quiet area, no cars coming by, so quiet and lovey to sit on the patio. Shady spots for sure so you can eat in complete peace. The prices are so affordable and the quality is so good. The service is so kind and it really feels like a local gem.
