Penguins View Guesthouse — Hotel in Western Cape

Beautiful little guesthouse at the top of Boulders beach, has quite a few amenities for a place so quaint, I appreciated the little bbq on the terrace and the honesty bar. I really wanted to stay in the honeymoon suite but unfortunately it wasn't available for our dates so we booked the whale room instead. It is very pleasant and has a side ocean view, as others have mentioned there's a kitchenette with enough stuff to make breakfast or simple meals. It's a bit of a dotter into the town but we done it twice and got a taxi or tuk tuk back. Heather kindly kept us updated on loadshedding but we were good as it didn't really affect our stay as it seemed to be around 12.at night. The beauty of this place is it close vicinity to boulder beach and the penguin viewing. Heather gave us plenty of information on check in, and sent us a little WhatsApp every day, but other than that we were left to it, so it really felt like a home from home for a few days. My wife and I have travelled through to Cape Town on several occasions and generally restricted our entertainment and experiences to central Cape Town as well as the Blouberg and Melkbos areas. When planning this trip we decided to head to Simon's Town and booked into Penguin View Guesthouse and spent 3 nights in the Lighthouse Studio self- catering facility. We were greeted by the delightful owner, Heather Hurter, and walked into an incredible room which enjoys world class views of False Bay. The room was exceptionally clean and included all the necessary to make your stay comfortable, including certain self- catering equipment. The rooms are supper comfortable and also has a balcony where one can enjoy a coffee or sundowner, whilst being spoilt with a view of the best that South Africa has to offer. The world famous Boulder Beach is a short walk away as is the very quaint town center. Fishhoek and Kalk Bay are also a short drive away and as such this beautiful guesthouse is really conveniently situated. We...

We stayed here three nights and enjoyed every moment!|OK, there was some construction work going on, but on daytime we were on the road - and it really not disturb us. Weather was not best possible - but despite that we enjoyed every moment here. Had it been warmer, it would have been even better outdoors.|Great scenery. excellent room with all necessary equipment.
