The Peckish Penguin - Smash Burgers — Restaurant in Western Cape

I’m lucky that we passed by this place on our way back from Boulders Beach. Grilled and served in what I believe to be the owner’s home patio/backyard, are the most delish burgers! I have food allergies and therefore couldnt have the bun, but they prepared a bun-free burger with just beef, onions, pickled cucumber, cheese and lettuce and it was very juicy! Visited here a few months ago! It was such a lovely experience getting to know the couple who owns the place. I felt like they were part of my family. The burgers are incredibly delicious to the point that I regret not ordering a second one! I often think about this meal (clearly came back to give a review after six months) The price is reasonable with a welcoming atmosphere and great customer service! The home made chips they sell are a great add on to complete your meal.

As a man who's eaten alot of vegan burgers in my time I can say without doubt this was the tastiest vegan burger I have ever eaten , full of flavour and filling ,so big it was a meal in itself , you can tell alot of time and effort went into preparing it.

Really friendly service ,happy to chat and give lots of local tips for things to do in and around the area. If you're checking out the penguins I would highly recommend stopping by ,if I didn't live in the UK I would eat...
