This place was a no fuss Hanok. We actually didn't even see the people running it except for when we arrived. We arrived a bit early, so they let us leave our stuff in front of the rooms as they were cleaning. When we got back, we realized that they put the bags inside and also warmed the rooms up for us which was nice. It took us a bit to realize that they left locks and keys for each room inside the room in the tv cabinet. We never saw anyone again. But, no matter. The stay was very comfortable, the place was really clean, and we had no real complaints (other than the oddity noted).||||Amenities: TV, fridge, and a small cabinet looking thing was in every room. A hair dryer was in the cabinet thing. They had shampoo and soap inside the bathroom.||||The one oddity was where the shower head was placed. It was a bit awkward as it hit only up to your stomach and managed to wet everything in the bathroom including the toilet paper. ||||Located right in front of the 전주천/JeonJu Chun, this place has very nice surroundings, though that will depend on what you're interested in. You can visit the stream in front and walk about. If you take a right, two or so doors down towards the bridge from this place was a really decent coffee place called 달콤한 산책/Sweet Walk. We ended up there quite a few times as the hanok had no food or drink. If you take a left and go to the end of that street, there's the region's most famous 아구찜/AhGooJjim - a very spicy ugly fish soup designed for the most adventurous. Locals told us to go to the last one on that street and it was pretty good.||||Notes on other sites said that this place was hard to find. Just tell your cab 남천교/NamChunGyo or NamChun Bridge. From there, it's the second alleyway to the east. Or, if you're walking, it's on the Southern end of the Hanok Folk Village. Walk the famous 은행로/EunHaeng Road to its southern tip and take a left, then second alley on your...

This is not for everyone and can be uncomfortable to some. Very cozy and different, so definitely not for those looking for something fancy or standard.
Not very spacious but the ceiling is reasonably high. Bathroom does not have a separate bath area. You get to sleep on the floor over a futon and the pillows are also traditional. If you don’t like hard mattresses and/or pillows this is not for you.
Quiet, peaceful neighbourhood. Location is great as the center of the town is 15ish minutes walk if you want to see anything there. Saw many other places in near the center and I would not want to stay there. The owner did let us know things get louder on weekends. I would still think it’s a lot better than the high traffic areas.
Overall, would recommend this place to people who are on a budget, want a new experience and don’t mind something more retro/traditional. It’s also super fun to learn the quirks of the room, but won’t give away...
Read moreThe host was very helpful and personable. She came out to meet us when we werent able to find the location, despite us arriving at a late hour. She gave us local restaurant recommendations according to what we wanted to eat. We had booked through an online booking service that accidentally charged us a higher, holiday rate, and the host let us know about the mistake and upgraded our room according to the price we paid. The honesty was appteciated as we had no idea that was the case. It was very peaceful and had a soothing atmosphere. The host wrote up a paper explaining check out, wifi, breakfast and any other important info for us in English when she thought we wouldnt be able to communicate with her in Korean (we could however haha) the only thing to mind is that check out is at an earlier time than we were used to, 10 am. This was no problem for us as the host allowed to leave our luggage and start exploring the Hanok Maeul asap. :) overall wonderful stay and we wish we stayed...
