I recently stayed at this hotel, and I have some mixed feelings about it. On the plus side, the hotel itself is quite nice, with comfortable rooms and good facilities. However, there are some serious issues with the management that need addressing.||One major concern is the exorbitant pricing for almost everything. While they may offer competitive room rates to attract guests, they make up for it by charging excessively for every little thing. It's disheartening to feel nickel-and-dimed during your stay. For example, the hotel breakfast is 70,000 Korean won per person! I had a great filling breakfast for 20,000 Korean right next door!||Another frustrating aspect is the hotel's check-in policy. They don't allow anyone to check in until 2 PM, and they hand out numbers, starting with the first person in line at 2 PM. This means that if your number is high, you could be waiting until late afternoon to get into your room, despite the fact that they do nothing until 2 PM. This policy seems needlessly complicated and inconveniences guests.||On a positive note, the hotel is in a great location with plenty of activities and excellent restaurants within a short walk. However, this is not just a positive aspect of the hotel; it's an opportunity for guests to explore and get more value for their expenses. You won't feel stuck at the hotel because there are many cost-efficient options for dining and entertainment nearby. The best strategy would be to use the hotel room, since they offer attractive discounts to attract guests, but then spend your money outside of the hotel, where you can find more value and a richer experience.||So my take - hotel offers a comfortable stay, but the management's pricing strategy and check-in policy need improvement. However, the convenient location and nearby attractions make it a viable option for those who want to explore the area and make the most of their expenses by venturing outside of the hotel. Take advantage of the cheap good room - get a bigger bang for the buck off the hotel grounds!||Here are two places highly recommended. The Cliff (bar/restaurant) and Bababara Cafe. Views are better than ANY...

My husband, seven year old daughter and me enjoyed three fantastic nights here.||This is a beautiful resort and is perfect for families. I definitely wouldn't recommend it as a romantic place for a couple, there are kids everywhere.||Our room was bigger than expected with a nice space to sit down and a balcony.||The main feature is the very impressive outdoor pool. I often find resort pools on the cold side around the world, however, the pool temperature is perfect, you won't want to get out.||There are also three spas/jaquizzes if you want to get warmer.||They do have a strict rule of all kids under 130cms have to wear a life jacket. My daughter wasn't impressed with this. The life guards are also very strict and there were lots of blowing of whistles and telling offs, so make sure you play by the rules.||Also, I am not sure if it is a cultural or a sun smart thing, but I noticed that Korean men and women cover up a lot when in the pool. It didn't bother me, but bikinis are generally only seen on foreigners. No one will be rude or stare at you if you wear a bikini, it is just an observation.||We didn't eat at all at the resort as it was super expensive. We went to the local bagel place for breakfast and up the road for lunch and dinner. There are plenty of tasty and affordable options around.||My daughter wasn't keen to be left at the kids club so we didn't try it. We did go bowling and that was fun.||We got the free shuttle bus back to the airport (book in advance) and that saved us some $ and was a really nice bus.||The resort green washes as an excuse to save money. For example, it won't provide you with a toothbrush in your room, but is happy to sell you one.||I highly recommend this resort for families to have some fun in the sun. It has everything you need.||I didn't give the resort 5 stars as it does look a bit tired in places. There is missing paint and stuff peeling off everywhere and tiles missing in our bathroom. It didn't spoil our holiday, but was noticeable enough.||I will be recommending this place to families wanting a fun...

Lotte Hotel Seogwipo Jeju is nestled in a breathtaking location, offering stunning panoramic views of the ocean that make for a truly serene and luxurious experience. The resort’s imposing structure stands out against the scenic backdrop of Jeju Island, and the ocean views from the balcony are simply mesmerizing, providing a perfect spot to unwind and soak in the natural beauty.

The architecture of the hotel is nothing short of beautiful, combining modern elegance with subtle traditional influences, creating a grand and welcoming atmosphere. The large outdoor heated pool is a standout feature, perfect for a relaxing dip while enjoying the fresh sea breeze. For those seeking a bit of excitement, the resort’s casino offers a lavish and entertaining experience.

However, the experience is somewhat marred by the service, particularly at breakfast. The staff, though professional, could benefit from being more courteous, especially towards guests who arrive close to the 10:30 am closing time. The strict policy of not allowing guests to take any food from the buffet counters after the cut-off time, despite the food still being on display, felt unnecessarily rigid and, frankly, rude.

Additionally, while the hotel boasts several dining options, the variety could be expanded, particularly with more vegetarian options, to cater to a wider range of guests. Another downside is the lack of complimentary toiletries in the bathrooms, such as toothpaste, toothbrush, and a comb, which need to be ordered from housekeeping at an extra charge—a surprising omission for a hotel of this caliber.

Overall, while the resort offers a visually stunning and relaxing stay, there are areas, particularly in service and amenities, that could be improved. Based on my experience, I would give Lotte Hotel Seogwipo Jeju 3...

Exceptional stay for our honeymoon. Right from getting out of the Uber and them taking our bags to our room, to the smooth check out service, the staff were so helpful and professional. The room was exquisite, we were able to pay for an upgrade when we arrived and got a view of the sea and pool. The pool is a real highlight, heated to the perfect temperature, with smaller hotter pools dotted around the side infused with different things like rosemary and wine. There was a beautiful trail around the windmill, and you can walk straight down to the beach (although we couldn't swim as it was jellyfish season). We loved the poolside bar (would recommend the lobster tteokbokki), and the cocktails were really wonderful (the cactus fruit one and blue saigon were favourites of ours). They also do a performance at night on the pool, they sing Disney songs which was lovely to watch from our balcony. Lots of families with kids, it seems very child friendly and they have great facilities for children. The area around is quite touristy, expect higher prices at all the eateries as they are catering to these luxury hotels. The waterfalls nearby are well worth a visit, and the teddy bear museum is cute. They take a 200,000 deposit when you arrive, this is refunded at the end of your stay.

It has to be the best Summer weekend gateway from Seoul for family with young kids. I had been to this hotel a few times during the pandemic. But I forgot how charming Jeju is and how easy domestic travel is. Though the hotel rooms are bit outdated, the Lotte Jeju is beautifully landscaped next to the beach. The hotel’s outdoor water park is the whole reason we went there with young kid: it is perfectly sized with a well maintained and lifeguards equipped kids pool/water park. Young kids can fully enjoyed the kids water slides and other water activities, safely. There is also a Champion Premium kids club inside the hotel, as well as arcade and bowling alley.
