Homes Stay Myeongdong — Hotel in Seoul

This was my second time to stay here and I was thinking of coming back again, but this will be my last time to stay here. Everything was alright until I arrived at Gimpo airport. I asked the lady at the lobby to help me with the taxi to Gimpo airport and I was scammed by the driver. I was charged 60,000KRW from hotel to Gimpo airport!!! I can go to Incheon with less than this amount!!! I also took a taxi from Gimpo airport to the hotel and I only paid 26,000KRW. I asked why it was so expensive and the driver said that the hotel called a big taxi (black colored taxi in Korea) and is more expensive than regular taxi. He said that the hotel should have explained to me about it, but I was never told that they called an expensive taxi!!! I thought it might be expensive as soon as I saw the black car, but I believed that the hotel will not do anything bad, trusting them. This is very bad... was I scammed by the hotel ?! Anyway, I will never come back to this hotel and I recommend you all to be careful when asking the hotel to arrange for a taxi, especially to the airports. I asked for taxi to go around close area and the hotel arranged regular taxi, so maybe the hotel and taxi drivers are working together to scam the customer. If they only checked with me at the time I asked for a taxi to the airport, I didn't have to feel this way. I hope you will stop doing this kind of things. I hate Korea when they do this to...

This hotel/service Residences is known by two name. Either Homes namsan hotel or Myhomestay Myeongdong.

PLEASE NOTE! don't use any service by the reception! We ask the male hotel staff(the only one working) to get a bigger taxi to airport when we check-out. Was quoted 100,000won and assume its a mpv or bigger taxi but it was a airport's pick up van/trunk when arrived. We tried to reject the driver but was told hotel "reservation" and can't cancel. I should have just walk away but the driver just took our luggage.

Its seems like the arrangement is shaddy and i never felt from other hotel we stayed at Royal Seoul Hotel. Please don't get services from this hotel "Myhomestay Myeongdong" or Homes Namsan Hotel". We realize klook also have transport to airport arrangement for MPV or mini bus at cheaper price, just 25% more than normal sedan / SUV taxi.

The hotel building is shared with other companies as well hence The hotel lobby/receiption is in B2. Its seems like previously was an apartment as no security to any levels.

Rooms are sufficient size for us and efficiently having a small sofa, kitchen, fridge and washer in a small room! Floor is parquet hence looks cleaner.

We had booked 2 rooms at Homes Stay Myeongdong - a deluxe twin and a standard triple. The hotel has been newly refurbished and is nice and clean. It is also connected to the Chungmuro subway station and the rooms come with a kettle, a washer cum dryer, an induction stove and a full-sized refrigerator. Checking in can be done using the self service kiosk on the ground level, or at basement 2 where the reception is located. There are several convenience stores nearby, Starbucks is on the ground level and Mega Coffee is just across the road, and there are some eateries (barbecue, beef and chicken) nearby, and Myeongdong is a station away (walkable). ||The stay is definitely comfortable and we are happy with our stay here but if you are booking a triple, a larger room type is suggested as the standard triple is small and managing 3 suitcases is a struggle. As we had a late flight, we left our luggages at the hotel and collected them in the evening. The only gripe about the hotel is that it has only 2 elevators (and 1 cargo elevator), and taking the elevator during peak periods including around the check-out timings is a nightmare.||Homes Stay Myeongdong is actually more commonly known as...
