This is the worst hotel I have yet experienced. It's supposed to be 4, but it's 2 or 3* at best. One positive thing: there's no pests living in the rooms (although there were som mosqitos and flies). Aside from that, the rooms were very dirty. When me and my boyfriend saw our room, we went straight down to the register and asked for a room change. The people there apologized and one of them took us to a different room...but this one was barely any better, so I think this must be normal in this hotel.
The carpet was very dirty, with spots everywhere. It's common for hotels to have slightly spotty carpets from previous guests, but this one was extremely dirty - it didn't look like it was ever being cleaned! There was also lots of hair on the floor, and grapestones and grapetwigs left from the previous guests. The bathroom walls were nasty too, with the first one having some kind of stuff running down the wall. There was also lots of dust all along the walls.
Our first thought was to get out of there right away, but there were no other hotels with available rooms in the area, so instead we deside to buy some cleaning supplies and clean the surfaces we would need to use. Then we discovered that the table, nightstand tops and bathroom floor, which looked worn at first, were not worn - just very dirty. It looked like no one had actually bothered washing neither! When washing the door handles, the cloth became grey right away.
Me and my boyfriend spent an hour washing the table and nightstands, bathroom, sink and shower before unpacking anything. I later also found what looked like a footprint on my bedsheets. The beds were hard and unstable (wobbly) and there was only one pillow. There's also no air conditioner, towels with holes in, power outlets that are barely attached to the wall, and others barely working, and construction work going on in the middle of the night (which didn't bother us, as we were too tired to keep awake at the end of our days). But hey, they printed our invoice on...
Read moreLocation is weird, government area. Coffee shop next door and quite a few local dining options in the area so food wise no issue. Quite far from subway although there is a bus stop right in front with a hourly bus to Incheon airport! First bus 06:24 last one 20:24 Corridors have a very strange musty smell. Rooms are quite small, mattresses are okay but pillows are so hard, rough and cheap. Air con barely works. It’s so hot in summer in Seoul and the air con does nothing (we stayed in 2 rooms so this wasn’t isolated). We got a double bed room and wanted to change to 2 single beds, we spoke to 4 members of staff about this at 4 separate times of the day, with each saying they’d put it on the system and surprise surprise not one of them did. Staff are friendly, though. Asked to borrow an umbrella and they wanted our passport as a deposit? When I said no they said 10k will be fine.. I asked for a fan in our room to which we were also asked for our passport as a deposit. When we said no, they brought the fan anyway. Why even ask for passport? The shower flooded on our second day. Drain full of hair and yuckiness all over the floor. And of course we had to clean it since we were in a rush and had to head out.. Wardrobe light doesn’t turn off. So disturbing and bright at night. We don’t bother complaining to the hotel, because then WE have to be inconvenienced and pack all our things and move room! Asked them to call regular seoul taxi for airport but no they call the luxury town car despite me specifying just a regular taxi. End up paying like 30% more for the...
Read moreThis is the 2nd time I have stayed here, the first time in the Executive Rooms. Due to budgets at work we stayed in regular rooms this time but I hadn't been too worried thinking how big a difference could there be...|Quite a lot as it turns out. Rooms are very dated and in need to basic maintenance. My room could have done with the thorough clean. The bed linen had numerous holes in it and it wasnt changed throughout the whole stay (5 nights). The air conditioning was ineffective. I had to ask for a separate fan to allow any significant cooling in room....didnt sleep at all first night thanks to poor air conditioning. Additional fan helped although this added even more noise.|The bathroom was in poor repair. The toilet leaked continually. I had to put a towel down on floor as floor around toilet and under waste bin was soaking when I first arrived...quite disgusting. |Breakfast...often felt rushed. An okay selection, but definitely catering for a more Asian breakfast palate.|Given how well kept the executive rooms had been 2 years ago when I stayed I was very disappointed by the regular rooms, whole place needs a refresh. |Staff also not overly helpful, on making complaint about the bathroom and fault with toilet nothing was done. Remained broken for the whole stay. |I dont think I would rush to stay again should work take me...
