Our recent stay at the Koreana Hotel in Seoul was primarily chosen for its unbeatable convenience, situated directly at a Metro and bus station and near Gyeongbokgung Palace, making city exploration a breeze. Furthermore, the direct airport bus service from the hotel entrance added to the ease of travel, particularly appreciated by those navigating the journey to and from the airport. The rooms at the Koreana Hotel are functional, catering well to the needs of a traveler looking for a straightforward place to rest. However, it's worth noting that while everything served its purpose, the decor and furnishings did feel outdated and in need of a refresh. Despite this, the availability of hassle-free WiFi and sufficiently comfortable beds for a night's stay made up for any lack in aesthetic or modernity. Check-in was a smooth process, complemented by the welcoming and friendly demeanor of the hotel staff. As for dining, we opted to explore local eateries outside of the hotel, so I can’t comment on the food and beverage offerings within the hotel. This decision was more about seizing the opportunity to explore Seoul’s vibrant food scene rather than a reflection on the hotel’s dining services. In conclusion, the Koreana Hotel served as a functional base for our one-night stay in Seoul. Its prime location and the ease of access to public transport were its strongest points. While the room interiors could definitely benefit from an update, the overall experience was satisfactory for our short visit. This hotel could be a good choice for travelers seeking practical accommodation with great...
Read moreWe were a family of 3 adults and 2 children (aged 15 and 11). We had booked the Royal Studio and this is our review of our stay.||Location|This hotel is located within the business district of Seoul, about 5 mins walk from City Hall station. We had come from Busan to Seoul via KTX. So City hall was just 1 stop away from Seoul Station, making this hotel convenient even when moving around with luggage. The surroundings are clean and the hotel itself is posh. ||Room|We booked the Royal Studio. The room is pricey but we wanted a room where all 5 of us could stay together and so this suited well for us. The room was very clean and spacious. a double bed and sofa area in one section and 2 beds (1 double and 1 single) and bathroom at another section. There were 2 toilets with bidets but only 1 was a shower room. We had ample space with lugagge, dining in and moving around. There was also complimentary snacks. coke and water. No free toiletries though.||Service|Check in was a breeze and the lobby staff could all converse in English fluently. Housekeeping was all good. ||Shops and amenities|There is a CU convenience store right under the hotel at level 1 and also other convenience stores nearby. For muslim families looking for muslim or halal food, there are halal options nearby at myeongdong (busanjib bbq) and also an indian restruant (Durga) within a 10 min walk. We took buses and trains mainly and most of it could be boarded right near the hotel within a 5 mins walk. Getting around to sightsee was...
Read moreThe hotel entrance gives off a sleek, modern vibe with its black facade and revolving doors—very city chic. Staff spoke English, which made things easier for tourists figuring their way around.
But the vibe did a little time warp once we got to our room floor. The polished modern feel faded into a kind of faded grandeur—like the remnants of a once-glamorous era designed for the bougie elite of yesteryears. Not exactly the aesthetic of 2025, but hey, they’ve clearly put effort into keeping it all in good condition. Some corners look a bit tired, but everything was clean and well-maintained.
Our room was spotless, and the bathroom—straight out of a 1970s royal suite—was surprisingly comfortable. Sure, there were signs of age, but the power shower more than made up for it. A proper blast of water pressure can fix almost anything.
Bonus points for the gym—it was modern, well-equipped, and perfect for staying hot and snatched while on holiday. The in-house spa looked freshly refurbished and was a lovely way to soothe tired muscles, all for a very reasonable KRW 10,000.
And let’s not forget the convenience: getting from Incheon Airport was a breeze thanks to the K Limousine bus, which dropped us right at the hotel’s front door. For the price and prime location, this place delivers...
