Wow!!!! This hotel definitely has earned its Travel & Leisure Best Hotels in the world rating! The service is not only exceptional but shockingly fast. We called to ask for an iron and it was there at our room in no lie 2 mins after the phone call. The staff go above and beyond to delight from the kind bell gentlemen to the wait staff and everyone in between. The gym is to die for ! They give you exercise clothes at the front desk of the gym on the 9th floor. The pool is magnificent & im so sad I didn’t swim. The breakfast buffet at Market Kitchen is the literal breakfast of my dreams and the service is 10/10 from all staff. In my opinion, the four seasons that competes with this one is NY Downtown Four Seasons when it comes to service and amenities. This is definitely one of my favorite hotels in the world. The bed was perfect! We walked 13 miles yesterday and after a long flight it was so needed. The room was magnificent. We stayed in the corner room and it was awesome views and comfort - it felt like home. I can’t wait to come back and was VERY sad to leave! My only opportunity for the hotel to improve is with cleanliness of the rooms - for a normal person it would have been fine but I am a neat freak and there was debris on the pillow when we arrived as well as some hair from prior guests in the shower and in the floors and the hotel addressed it right away but we were promised very thorough cleaning on the next day and that didn’t happen and I knew it didn’t bc the same debris and dirt spots were still on the floor after the room was serviced, however, in defense of the cleaning lady when we arrived back to the room after shopping she was cleaning and she told us to give her 10 more mins but she probably felt rushed and that’s perhaps why she didn’t sweep and mop the floor. At Four Seasons Downtown NY when turn down service is done the room is also cleaned but that didn’t happen at Seoul. The bell gentlemen are treasures! So kind and helpful! Please note that in SKorea it’s customary to only have 1-2 suitcases so if you have more try to get a van or suv to the airport though the bell gentlemen will help you and coordinate whatever you need. The concierge at Four Seasons was excellent as well and provided great recommendations. I cannot wait to come back to this hotel!

Decent stay overall, but underwhelming for a Four Seasons property

First impressions matter, especially at a hotel with the reputation and pricing of Four Seasons. Unfortunately, the welcome and check-in experience at Four Seasons Seoul fell short of expectations.

The check-in felt rushed, impersonal, and lacked the warmth or attentiveness you’d expect at a five-star property. It felt more like checking into a busy airport hotel than a luxury experience. We booked through a premium credit card program that includes benefits such as potential upgrades, but were told none were available due to high occupancy. The way this was communicated felt dismissive and lacked courtesy. When asking about our room’s view, the front desk agent, avoided a direct answer multiple times, only eventually stating it was a “city view,” which turned out to be directly facing an office building. This compromised our privacy significantly, to the point we had to keep the blinds closed for most of our stay. There was even a notice in the room confirming visibility from the building across.

After persistence, we were eventually offered a paid upgrade to a Palace View room, which was a noticeable improvement. Still, it was disappointing that the upgrade was only made available after we pushed back, despite our booking benefits.

Other aspects of the stay were a mix of highs and lows. The breakfast service was average but had a great selection. The gym was a standout, one of the best hotel fitness centers I’ve used, and well-equipped. On the other hand, housekeeping was inconsistent and minimal, with some days feeling like only the bed was made. Room service dinner was fine but unremarkable.

The spa experience was confusing due to apparent internal issues between the hotel and the spa facility. Access to the Korean spa areas required multiple conversations and an extra fee, despite unclear initial communication. The pool area is serviceable, though quite limited, and the sauna near the pool was not adequately heated.

The overall atmosphere felt more like a polished business hotel than a true luxury retreat. Service interactions often felt scripted and lacked genuine warmth or personalization. Some staff were courteous, but others seemed indifferent or even inconvenienced by basic guest requests.

To sum up: Once upgraded, our stay became more comfortable, but the overall experience didn’t meet the standards I’ve come to expect from the Four Seasons brand. It’s an okay city hotel, but lacks the special touches and consistent service that justify its price point. Next time, I’d consider other...
