We stayed for 8 nights, first impressions were wow. Previously stayed at the Corales suites so we had high expectations, this was a modern more luxurious vibe and we loved it. We have pro and cons that may be helpful to others (maybe too much info but said I would write it all down anyway to share, it sounds like I am complaining with cons but all cons bar the noise are minor, just wanted to mention as I think this hotel could be 10/10 with some small tweaks) even now the Pros do outweigh cons, and would love to come back some day soon! ||Pros:|Hotels aesthetic is fab.||Rooms spotless.||Nicest pool beds ever!||Nice level of pool entertainment.||Staff are fantastic - remembered your coffee order at breakfast and at night the bar staff remembered our drink order. Always so friendly and chatty!||Housekeeping do a great job and so friendly, the turn down service was exceptional, lovely touch. ||Food quality is excellent in the pool bar-fair price for a 5 star hotel.||Good cocktails and drinks- overpriced €11 for a Jack Daniels is outrageous. €14 for some cocktails is ok but most were €19+ and if you’re the type like I am on a holiday to want a few nice drinks by the pool during the day our rounds (2 people) were just over €30 per round meaning your casual pool drinks were hitting €100 each day, a bit much in my opinion on top of the lunch bill which was typically €70.||Pool was lovely and nice views, pool a bit cold sometimes when the weather wasn’t very hot.||Cons:|We had a swim up non sea view so we’re down near the spa area/kids club immediately on arrival when we went to our terrace there was high pitch screeching sound we thought this cannot be normal so rang reception they said someone would investigate, it stopped approx 1hr later but continually came on and off for the next 3days. Finally we rang again on day 3 and someone was sent to check, later we were told there was nothing that can be done as this is the air conditioning unit working extra hard. Now to me the weather wasn’t exceptionally hot between 24-29 for our stay so I would genuinely worry if the weather was hotter how continual the noise would be. We were offered to move away from the area we were in which we appreciated but only having a few days left we thought it was an effort to pack all of our belongings we just decided to spend the majority of next few days by the main pool which was lovely and we did enjoy but we paid extra to be able to sit on our terrace and use the swim up and relax and feel we couldn’t do that as the noise was very irritating and made it hard to chill. I would really like to see the hotel invest in upgrading the system or soundproofing the room it is in for a brand new hotel to have such an issue for me is a red flag would nearly expect to see this from older hotels with outdated systems. I especially think it needs to be addressed since the whole mantra of the hotel is to come here for peace and to unwind and relax. ||I found air con in our room was good to cool down the room but it was noisy, so opted to switch it off a night but if next door had theirs on we could hear it- again in such a modern new build would have thought this would have been more efficient. Not the end of the world though!||Feels slightly understaffed in some areas- One night we ordered room service, delivery time was meant to be 21:00 however we waited over 1.5hr which was communicated after we ordered and we were ok, but time was pushing past 22:30 when we got our food only to be told that half our order was forgotten, this normally would be minor but at 22:30 when we actually at that point just wanted to go to bed was very frustrating. We were given a bottle of cava to apologise which was a nice gesture and staff were nice about the confusion but in a 5 star hotel this shouldn’t happen. It did at times feel understaffed and the hotel was not even near full capacity when we stayed. Few other times we waiting 45 mins on 2 drinks to be made, had to ask a few times for something like our bill only to be left waiting, just small things that really wouldn’t matter but when they happen in tandem it does annoy you slightly considering the status of the hotel. ||Room service quality seemed to differ from pool bar. Same items seem like it came from a different kitchen- a pizza I got by the pool was excellent but ordered the same on room service one day and it was totoally different and not nice at all- odd! ||The app had a feature that said you can order drinks to your sunbed, it did not work, our drinks were actually sent to our room which we later discovered, questioned it and showed the bar staff the app and the receipt that confirmed it was ordered to our bed, we were told oh never seen that before we don’t have that app at the bar- very strange! ||On our 2nd last day, and this is not fault of the hotel but something to note when booking swim up as I didn’t think of it before. We got new neighbours they were awful- playing rave music out loud, smoking week and when not smoking weed we’re smoking cigarettes constantly to the point where we had to leave our pool area as we couldn’t sit there any longer. They were very loud, the woman sunbathing topless, getting into the pool topless and just generally making you feel uncomfortable. We usually would book a balcony room this is our first time booking swim up and it made me think that in a balcony room you do not see your neighbour there is a wall or partition but here it is more shared and if the person beside you has a different idea of relaxation it’s very had to get away from that so just wanted to note it for consideration as it’s something I never thought of. I though everyone would just chill in their area of the pool with a book or a drink I didn’t think about people blaring music I didn’t like or smoking weed which genuinely the smell turned my stomach. Maybe some day we will be lucky enough to be able to book a private pool villa which looks amazing! ||The lifeguards seemed so bored as pools were quiet, some days they played games on their tablets or videos out loud or sat around laughing and joking leaning on the wall by the pool and being honest it did take from the pool aesthetic and vibe understand they are young lands and bored but sometimes they made me feel uncomfortable. ||Would be great if the shuttle went once or twice earlier in the day to La Caleta, as I got a bad bite which I needed a pharmacy for and it was a bit awkward to get into an area with a pharmacy as none are near by.||All in all would love to come back but would love some very small issues to be improved on. I do believe this hotel wants to improve and will...

We recently returned from a 10-night stay at the newly developed Royal Hideaway Corales Villas by Barceló in Tenerife, and I can say without hesitation that this was one of the most outstanding holiday experiences my family has ever enjoyed.
From the very moment of arrival, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and care — greeted with champagne and assisted by staff who were attentive, professional, and deeply committed to ensuring our comfort throughout our stay. The resort itself is strikingly beautiful: a modern-classic aesthetic, high-quality furnishings, and an elegance that never feels pretentious but rather inviting and refined.
Our two-bedroom villa with a private 9-metre pool exceeded every expectation. Spacious, immaculately designed, and equipped to the highest standard, it became a haven for both relaxation and family time. The private pool in particular was a highlight — ideal both for our four-year-old daughter and for us to unwind together as a family.
Dining was consistently excellent. The Royal Breakfast offered an impressive selection of fresh, high-quality food each morning, and evenings at Bonfire restaurant were a genuine pleasure. The ribeye steak we enjoyed there was, without exaggeration, phenomenal.
The spa is another feature that deserves special recognition. The atmosphere is serene, refined, and perfectly in keeping with the resort’s ethos of understated luxury. My mother indulged in a full body massage and described it as one of the very best she has ever experienced — a testament to both the skill of the therapists and the thoughtful design of the spa itself. It provided a restorative and deeply memorable experience.
Housekeeping also deserves special praise: discreet, efficient, and always delivered with a friendly smile. Their attention to detail contributed greatly to the effortless sense of comfort during our stay.
Perhaps most worthy of praise, however, are the children’s facilities and the Kids Club team. As a consultant paediatrician, I hold high expectations when it comes to the quality of childcare and children’s activities. Aniria and Miriam, in particular, were utterly outstanding. They went above and beyond to engage our daughter, offering creative activities and delightful touches such as face painting. While we chose not to leave her in the club alone, joining her for these sessions became some of the most memorable moments of our holiday. Their warmth, professionalism, and genuine care were simply remarkable, and we are deeply grateful for the joy they brought to our daughter.
In summary, Royal Hideaway Corales Villas is an exceptional destination in every respect: world-class accommodation, outstanding dining, meticulous service, rejuvenating spa facilities, and above all, a team of staff who elevate the experience from excellent to unforgettable.
I recommend this resort without reservation — to families, couples, or anyone seeking the very best of what Tenerife has to offer. This is a place we will treasure in our memories and very much hope...
Read moreI have very mixed feelings about this hotel. On the positive side, it’s absolutely stunning — beautifully constructed with one of the best room service meals I’ve had in Tenerife. The gentlemen handling valet and luggage, especially Adan, were so kind, warm, and professional. They were also flexible about early check-in and room changes when available.
Unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience with Rafael at reception that left a lasting negative impression.
Upon check-in, we were given a room (122) directly in front of the bar and shared pool, which lacked privacy and was quite noisy. As my husband had a fever and needed rest, we asked to move to a quieter room that we had seen was already cleaned. Though we were told we could move pending final confirmation, no update came after 20 minutes. With my husband feeling worse, I called again and was asked to keep waiting.
Eventually, I went to reception for an update and was met with the same vague response. Meanwhile, my husband, not realizing the room wasn’t ready, packed up and waited outside the new room. I found him there and discovered our old room key did not work, leaving us effectively locked out. Not wanting to bother Rafael again, we waited quietly outside.
To my surprise, Rafael approached us in what felt like an aggressive and scolding manner, claiming our presence pressured the cleaning team (who had already left about 45 minutes earlier). I tried to explain the misunderstanding, but instead of offering help — especially seeing my visibly ill husband — he briskly led us back to our old room without offering assistance with our luggage. He walked fast in front of us and we had to shuffle catch up. It was like children in trouble being brought to the principals office. It felt humiliating and unnecessary.
We ended up waiting nearly 2 hours in total before moving to the new room, which upon arrival, was missing basic items like hand soap. The incident left me feeling anxious and unwelcome. I even called to apologize for unintentionally upsetting the cleaning staff, and though Rafael said it was fine, the atmosphere at reception noticeably changed afterward. It felt as though the situation had been complained and gossiped about, which is highly unprofessional. I grew hesitant to contact reception for the rest of our stay, fearing being labeled a “difficult” guest — a feeling I’ve never experienced at a hotel before.
To add to this, on our first day, someone else’s receipt containing their personal details was mistakenly delivered to our room. When I brought it to the front desk, I was told it was because of our room change, yet the receipt was for a completely different room (138 vs. ours at 139), which was concerning from a privacy standpoint.
It’s such a shame because the hotel itself is beautiful and the room was comfortable enough that, despite his illness, my husband still enjoyed parts of our stay. But this encounter left a bitter aftertaste, and I can’t imagine returning after such a stressful,...
