Review of JS Sol de Alcudia We recently stayed at JS Sol de Alcudia in Alcudia, and unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory due to significant issues with the hotel's service. We had booked a sunset kayaking tour, which we were very excited about. The night before, and early the next morning after breakfast, we booked a taxi through the hotel reception, as we had been instructed to do so two days prior. We specifically requested the taxi to pick us up from the hotel at 18:15, which should have been plenty of time to get to La Victoria by 19:00. However, the taxi never arrived. When we inquired at the reception, we were told that the taxi system is unreliable and that cancellations can occur without notice. This critical information was never communicated to us beforehand. The hotel then suggested that we go out to a taxi stop to find another taxi, but we were on a tight schedule and couldn’t afford the delay. As a result, we missed our kayaking tour entirely. Adding to our frustration, the hotel refused to refund the cost of the missed tour, claiming it was the kayak company’s responsibility, not theirs. We were left to deal with the kayak company on our own to try and get our money back. The hotel staff’s handling of the situation was very poor, and they did not take responsibility for the inconvenience caused. Had we been warned about the unreliable taxi service, we could have made alternative arrangements, such as renting a car or taking a bus. Instead, we were left stranded and out of pocket, and the hotel offered no assistance or compensation. Overall, the lack of communication and poor service from JS Sol de Alcudia led to a disappointing and frustrating experience. We believe the hotel should have refunded us for the kayaking tour directly, rather than passing the responsibility onto us to sort out with the kayak company. They need to significantly improve their customer service and support, ensuring that customer needs are prioritized and communicated effectively. Having stayed at this hotel for two years in a row, we regret to say that we do not wish to return for a third year

I have been coming to Alcudia for great holidays for many years, but I just had to write a review on our recent first stay at Hotel JS Sol de Alcúdia as it is by far the best hotel my wife & I have ever stayed. The location is central to the many shops, bars & restaurants that Alcudia has to offer & the beautiful beach is only 10 minutes walk. Firstly, on arrival at check-in we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who offered us a warm welcome and a free glass of prosecco. Our room was beautiful, clean, air-conditioned & overlooked the pool with a lovely balcony & the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was lovely & the quality & choice exceeded our expectations, as was dinner; with a different themed menu every night, there was so much to choose from & all beautifully presented & delicious. The large pool & patio was absolutely beautiful with stairs leading to a roof terrace & plenty of comfortable quality sun loungers, parasols, tables & chairs. There was good after dinner entertainment most nights either at the outdoor poolside stage, or inside the lounge-bar area; which has lots of comfy sofa's and tables & chairs to sit & spend the evening. The entire hotel feels very new & modern inside & out & is immaculately maintained to a very high standard, but what really makes this hotel stand out from the rest is the friendly and positive attitude of the staff who clearly work hard to ensure that everyone is looked after throughout their stay. We would like to say a huge thank you to all of the hotel staff including the reception, bar, catering, waiting, and last but not least the cleaning staff who were constantly working hard in the background & behind the scenes to ensure that our stay was just 'perfect!' We will definitely be coming back again soon!

I truely dont get how people are giving this hotel a 5 star rating. I’ve done alot of traveling and i would say this is a 2 star hotel. The only thing that stands out is the pool area. Everything else is run down. The ”dubble bed” is a 120 cm bed. Not a comfortable sleep for 2 grown adults. Also the mattress is hard. They give you one long pillow to share. They dont change towels daily and when they do they only give 1 big and 1 small towel to share!? You get a sheet as a blanket. Housekeeping is horrible. Dirty pillow cases, sand and hair still on the floor. Insects in the bathroom. The shower dont run like a 4 star hotel should. The water pressure is thesame as i had in a 2 star hotel in a tiny greek island. Ladies, pack your hair dryer if you are coming here, because this 4 star hotel is still using those old noisy hair dryers attached to the wall. No ac in the lobby/restaurant. When i arrived on my first day the lady in the reception told me breakfast was going to cost 126 euro for 2 people 1 week. I told them I would decide later on and same day that evening i went back to the reception and told them i would like to add breakfast to my stay, this time they gave me another price. 168 euro for 2 people and 1 week! I was very confused and asked her why they gave me a different price then the one i got that morning. She replied that i needed to return the next morning and ask to talk to the lady that gave me the first price. At this point i felt very disappointed and almost felt like i was being scammed. Overall the area around this hotel is boring. The only nice thing is probably the beach. I would not return to this hotel.

We spent 9 super days in the hotel, I would like to share my experience. First of all I would like to respond to the reviews I have read here.

There is not enough cleanliness, sheets and towels are not changed every day: this is stupid... we had our towels changed even when we did not ask for them. Every day the housekeeper lady waited to come to our room and every day the room was vacuumed, mopped, bed made.

The rooms: the rooms are small - the size of the rooms is of course subjective to everyone, although we stayed for almost 10 days and never felt like we didn't fit, although we had quite a few things. Someone write that the beds are not comfortable. Well, I have back pain, so for me the quality of the mattress is very important and I slept very well, I still miss that comfortable bed! We were also given two folded beds, but the reception offered to bring a mattress cover, which arrived in less than 1 hour, and the cleaning lady immediately put it on the bed. Even though we were on the fourth floor and had very, very hot days and nights, our air conditioner always worked well and we didn't think it was that loud either.

They charge extra for everything - hire towels, room safe, drinks are very expensive for dinner: I think hire towels are a good idea, you get your 10 euros deposit back when you give back the towels at the end of your stay. You don't have to have them cleaned every day and you'll come out cheaper. 🤐 The room safe is expensive, but you don't have to use it either, we felt our stuff safe without it (even if we did leave our phones there one day when we left and the cleaning lady was in the room at the same time). We agreed that the drinks are really expensive at dinner (almost the only negative thing we found during our stay).

No programs/animators for adults: super concerts and magic shows every night after dinner! There may be no activities during the day, but anyone who goes to an island and spend every minute in a hotel is a wierdo and that's not the hotel's fault. Besides that the reception will help you organize any program you want. 😉

Incredibly nice staff: highlighted in several reviews, and I didn't see why is that a big deal - in the hotel industry, yes, people should be nice. But everyone here is really extremely kind and caring, from the receptionist Alba (our favourite! :)) to all the waiters and cleaners. Thank you for your kindness!

And a few words about our own impressions: The room was super, the pull out dryer on the balcony was very useful. The wardrobe is well packable, the bed is SUPER comfortable, enough power sockets and lights in the room. We never had a problem with cleanliness anywhere in the hotel. The restaurant is spacious enough with a large selection, plenty of fresh food. The seasoning and preparation of the meats (sometimes overcooked, sometimes undercooked) could be improved, but there is enough choice for everyone to find something to eat. The pool is quite spacious, the pool-bar is a very good idea. The previous residents left a lot of mats there for the next guests to use for free. Everything is very close to the hotel: the beach, shopping street, bars and restaurants, playground for kids. Parking is very easy, there is always a space around the hotel on the street for free. In a word, we had a great time, super honeymoon thanks to the staff and look forward to seeing...
