After a recommendation from a random local we met on the street (not a promoter) we went to this restaurant three times this week. We were not disappointed!
The first evening we ordered the sea bass, cooked mallorcan style. The menu said it was for two people, but the dish would easily be enough for three persons. Non the least it was amazing! Second day we ordered paella. For me, this was the first time I eat paella in Spain (have tried it once in Norway, which hardly counts..) and in my opinion it was truly incredible here at the bodega! The waiter recommended a local red wine, Macia Batle from 2010 and it suited perfectly to the paella.
The third and last day we ordered tapas. Potatoes with some sort of sauce on, meatballs, garlic shrimps, serrano ham, chorizos and chicken croquettes. If I would remove one dish it would be the chicken. It was okay, but that's all. The serrano ham was heavenly! They have a lot of them air drying in the ceiling in the restaurant and the rest of the interior makes the visit feel like you truly are in Spain, and not in a heavy trafficked tourist village. We got a local red vine to the tapas as well, but I can't remember the name of it. But it was spot on to the tapas, as the wine we got to the paella were.
I would highly recommend this restaurant! The food and service is first class. It costs a bit more than the restaurants down on the beach, but you really get true value...
Read moreThis place was fantastic! I went here with my parents and my wife on vacation and it was our favourite meal of the whole trip. The ambiance of the restaurant is comfortable and classy and the staff are friendly and attentive. We had the mussels in white wine sauce as an appetizer along with bread and aioli and they were some of the best mussels of my life. Later I had the roasted lamb, my wife had the roasted duck and my parents shared the Chateaubriand steak. The portion sizes were really large and the taste was phenomenal. My father said it was probably the best meal of his life and he is 68! The two bottles of house red wine were tasty and paired nicely with all of our mains. The final bill was around 150 € for the whole meal but for 4 people and for the quality we got it was definitely worth it. We came back one other time just to drink the wine. You have you visit this place if you go to Alcúdia or you will be...
Read moreFood was decent and the portions reasonably sized. However, the food was served very unevenly, and several of our party of eight had finished their meal before the rest had even been served our dinner. I was the first to have my sauce served, but the last to have my dinner brought out, so had to return the now cold sauce along with the over cooked sirloin steak (I asked for rare, they served it medium plus). At least they did the steak anew with no fuss - although with no apology either. Also, we ordered plain spaghetti with cheese on the side for my son, and while the spaghetti came within a reasonable amount of time, the cheese did not. The server were happy to make us a new plate of spaghetti, though, as the previous had gone cold while waiting for the cheese.
Finally, we also felt that we had to wait a very long time for the check, but then again, we might have been a bit biased by this time.
Would...
