One of the nicest boutique experiences I’ve ever had. This gem is run by Carla, the owner, who makes the place be as amazing as it is, with her genuine kindness, friendliness and hospitality. She makes you feel so welcome. You can tell her love and dedication to La Bionda in every detail! I had to take the bus to the airport with my usual embarassingly huge bags, and she insisted on helping me out ( uphill!) ínstead of grabbing a taxi, like a friend who is hosting you at her home and finds joy in helping out, that ladies and gentlemen, is true hospitality! The interiors are something else . The furniture curation is impeccable, full of character yet super high end. Every space has so much identity, I love the vaulted ceilings and how they managed to create a cool modern space without compromising the nature of the old bones which are so special. As many say very Wes Anderson indeed but I also could see a lot of Catalonian elements in the interiors, which I loved. From the moment we were met at the car park by Carla (just 2 minutes from the hotel) it became obvious that this was no ordinary hotel. This place is run by a group of women who do nothing else but look after your needs, Carla aided by Lola and Julia seem permanently happy and can never do enough for you. The hotel itself is chic and our room at the top of the house (Josephine) was cool and tasteful with a spacious terrace overlooking the tops of the trees with views of the mountains beyond. The breakfasts are to die for with everything freshly prepared by yet more smiling women. And did I mention the other Carla who gave me one of the best facials and massages! Begur itself is a beautiful place with lots of great eateries, you will not be disappointed. However what made Begur for us was this charming hotel which will rank as one of the very best in which we have stayed, and we travel a lot all over the world! breakfast was another highlight. the home-style cooking was comforting and elegant at the same time—and we’re still talking about the best poached egg we’ve ever had. that’s not an exaggeration.
