Management has apparently changed because the quality of the food certainly has, and not for the better.
Despite the name of the restaurant being Pizzeta, DO NOT ORDER THE PIZZA. It is small and square, and the base tastes like it was bought frozen from a supermarket, not doughy at all. The topping (garlic prawns this time) tasted all right what there was of it, but I was still hungry afterwards. No surprising given how small it was. I tasted the dishes my companions ordered (they felt sorry for me after seeing my 'pizza' arrive) and though nice, they were nothing to write home about. The only saving grace is the setting, a beautiful outdoor garden, however this was negated by the slight rudeness of the waiter (manager?) in rushing us out when we were trying to round up the kids and pay the bill, and was just enough to convince us that there are better places to give our custom to next time we visit. Pity as it...
Read moreLovely location, nice staff and service, poor food. Starters: Beef carpaccio: the beef was totally tasteless, it tasted like water. Asian style chicken fritters need more seasoning and more sauce to go with them. Mains: cod: lacking basic seasoning and a fairly small portion for the price, also it was all swimming in a pool of oil, simply not necessary. Ravioli: spinach and cheese mentioned on the menu, also stuffed with pine nuts and raisins (classic Catalan), tasteless and very greasy. Spaghetti Bolognese for our daughter was the highlight of the meal. I don’t understand the high ratings here; yes it is in a lovely setting but surely the food is the main part to a good meal?!? I won’t be back in a hurry. Also the pizzas are minuscule from what we saw, just in case you are thinking of ordering one! Service was nice, quick, efficient and friendly. Food was a huge let down! Would...
Read moreVisited La Pizzetta in mid June, had pre-booked our table. The Manager was quite unwelcoming however the staff were very polite & efficient.
Was really looking forward to a great Pizza experience (considering the name of the restaurant) but was sadly left wanting.
Our starter was lovely, Quinoa with Aubergine & Mint Yogurt. Then our Pizzas arrived. They were small, square, with cooked and uncooked toppings added on, undercooked base, and not much fresh flavour. They did not look fresh handmade Pizzas, more like frozen ones and came out so quickly they couldn’t have been freshly made. To be fair Pizzetta apparently means small & square so that would explain a lot. Should have done my research before. Such a shame as the outside area was really pretty so it should be better. Begur is...
