So a new city per se, usually stay on the outskirts, therefore a new hotel.||||Easy to find, and with secure underground parking being a bonus, with an 11th floor room with a large balcony/terrace and air con being pretty nice.||||Probably us and Google, but finding somewhere local for an evening meal on a Friday evening drew a 'blank', so ended up in the Hotel Restauraunt, when we finally found it as Reception were little help. The food was good though.||||Never actually found the hotel bar open, despite it being next to Reception and them advising opening times, so gave up and found a local bar around the corner.||||Other Reviews advised that Breakfast would be 'entertaining', and so it proved. Must of timed it well as got a table pretty quick, though later could see quite a few queuing through Reception waiting for a table to be free so as to be seated. Seemed to be quite a few staff darting backwards and forwards though quite often they weren't actually replenishing things. Like several others we all gave up on trying to find a working coffee machine, dispenser, etc. ||||Would we stay again ?||Tough one, but possibly as loved the Penthouse room, and now we've had chance to check the internet, we'd be much more comfortable striking out in the evening for a meal and evening...
Read moreNot as good as the Abba Burgos, I would have stayed there instead and I will do from now on;
Pros: Nice reception area, comfortable beds, windows open in bedrooms.
Cons: I waited for near 10 minutes at reception without being seen. Then two receptionists came together from somewhere else, obviously having a real laugh and giggle en route to the desk. Car parking is not easy, especially if you arrive later in the day. Rip off room service, EUR14 for a tiny flat (1.2mm thick) steak and a handful of old salad, tasted awful, but hadn't eaten in 9 hours due to driving from Gibraltar. Breakfast was even worse, I walked around the restaurant surveying all, then left.. I decided a coffee from the petrol station was a better idea.
Unfortunately, not as good as I had excepted, dont be lured into the 4* rating thinking your getting a good deal. If you want a good deal, try the...

Very warm welcome from English-speaking staff. All information about meals, menus etc clearly displayed in reception along with chilled orange-juice dispenser for everyone to help themselves. Room was spacious, well furnished and aircon and wifi worked well. Dinner and breakfast were excellent, as was all service here. The secure, underground car park has a lift bringing you to Reception.
Turning right out of the entrance takes you towards the city centre - we enjoyed a walk of 4-5 Km, punctuated with drinks, tapas etc. Beautiful city with many medieval buildings and shady, tree-lined, traffic-free areas.
Not easy to get a restaurant meal before 8pm in Burgos - but it's more...
