This hotel is a self proclaimed 4 star JOKE. Do NOT book this hotel unless all you care about is being on the beach with a decent pool and plan to spend no time at all at the hotel (the breakfast was also decent, nothing amazing, but I’ve definitely had worse). We actually actively avoided coming back to our room.
This hotel was an unbelievable let down. My wife and I just visited and were fooled by the pictures. We thought we scored an amazing rate at a hotel resort right on the beach, but if it looks too good to be true, it is.
To start, the whole hotel smells! It constantly smells musty or like sewage. We would get random periods of the room smelling like sulfur even after not being in it all day. I even farted and my wife said it made the room smell better (this is a joke, obviously).
There is barely any AC in the hotel and it took a whole two days for our room to cool down once the AC was on, it was mid at best. Be prepared to sweat while in the elevator or on any floor of the hotel.
Speaking of the elevators!! They are so disgusting and slow. There is no indication of where the elevators are going and there are two systems for some reason (one solo elevator and two of the same). They also don’t have up and down buttons. Just one button to push and hope it comes. They are so hot though, I always ended up a sweaty mess after being in the elevator for less than 20 seconds.
Now on to the rooms… they were so dingy and dirty. There was paint peeling off the walls, dirty floors, and there was a legitimate piece of an onion on the chair when we walked in. I couldn’t tell you what “housekeeping” did besides make the bed and change the bath towels. The bathrooms looked decent at first, the shower even has decent water pressure (even if the water smells a bit like chlorine). Then I realized how horrible the shower design is. It doesn’t have a door and the drainage system is terrible, this resulted in the bathroom floor flooding every time we showered.
They also force you to wear this wrist band as your room key and it is unbelievably annoying. They also only give you one beach towel per person and don’t do any laundry for them on site. You must return the towel to the front desk while checking out or you risk them charging you for it.
Also, I tried to do laundry while there, but was given no option to do it over the weekend as we were told it takes at least 24 hours and can’t be started Thursday evening when we arrived (we were visiting Thursday - Sunday). We were given no alternatives and told there are no laundromats in the area, so helpful!
They also don’t have any music anywhere in the hotel and no music is allowed on the pool deck, so it feels like a snooze fest.
All in all, if you want to be directly on the beach with a sleepy pool and some dingy rooms then this hotel might be okay. However, if you care about the rooms or anything else in the hotel....

We’ve just come back from a few days spent at the Coral Playa. The hotel is lovely - you can clearly see the benefits of the recent refurbishment in the rooms, pool area and communal areas.
Our room was well appointed and as we were celebrating our anniversary the team kindly added a few special touches to make our stay more memorable. The shower in the room is brilliant and the view from our balcony over the sea was lovely. We arrived very late (around 1am) and the night shift wasn’t able to offer us a drink or snack but there were drinks in our fridge which we could use as part of the All Inclusive.
The hotel is well situated and has all the amenities you’d expect - the communal areas and bathrooms throughout the hotel are always immaculately clean. I’d definitely recommend upgrading to AI ahead of staying there. The drinks are ok - fairly limited selection and only served until 11pm (which they were very strict about).
But the food is marvellous and offers a great selection for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Choices change each day and there is also drinks machines in there offering wine, sangria, beer, soft drinks and hot drinks. The restaurant team were the most welcoming and friendly we came across in the hotel.
Entertainment is ok - there are activities throughout the day, but to be honest if you want something less like hotel entertainment just stroll along the beautiful beach front to one of the beach bars. We recommend Ibizza which has a really nice vibe. I’d also recommend the ice cream bar just below the hotel (down some steps or use the hotel’s own lift).
The downsides (and there aren’t many of them) - the bed is hard to sleep on so be prepared if you prefer a softer mattress. You have to pay a deposit to hire the beach towels (€10 which is quite steep). The AI bar selection is quite limited, and has a hard shut down at 11pm - if you want anything after then you have to pay. Parking is available but is extremely limited - there is free parking on the street which is where we left our car for most of the time we were there. There should be basic guest information in the room or available on the website to familiarise yourself with what’s on offer in the hotel and the surrounding area. Finally I’d expect the front desk team to be more welcoming for a four star property. We always felt like we were inconveniencing them!
However, these are minor issues which can be easily addressed to improve the hotel. All in all I’d highly recommend the hotel to stay and we’d...
Read moreUsually I don’t submit reviews with less than 4 ⭐️ but this time I feel I have to do it. We’ve stayed for seven night at this hotel and the overall experience wasn’t good at all. I will start with the bad bits. Rooms are old, walls are cracked, and the bathroom is outdated. Our bathroom door couldn’t be closed properly, had to be forced because it was at the same level with the floor tiles. The manager Marcel was understanding and after saying it is what it is because the hotel was built 50 years ago he offered us to change our room but surprise the other one was in the same condition and we just kept the first one. The problem is when you pay for the holiday nobody says it’s 50 years old they say it’s a 4 stars hotel and you pay for that but you get a room that looks like one from a two stars hotel. Secondly the food was poor, we had all inclusive and I think I liked what I’ve eat just one evening. Didn’t had many options because what was left from dinner was transformed and served for lunch next day and so on. I know it’s about less waisting and more reusing but in here was too much. All the hotels does it and I completely understand but in this one happened every day. El tomate rallado was always sour, never fresh. I had baked potatoes that were sour as well once. To much repetition and the kids menu was like french fries and pasta two times a day every day. Worst food experience in Spain for me so far and we travel every year in different parts of Spanish coast. Thirdly, the elevator was a nightmare, two old ones which were extremely slow and a new one which was busy most of the times. Plus it was very hot inside them. Now the good bits. The first good bit is the view from the hotel which is amazing. And the second good bit and the most important is the people working in the hotel. They deserve a 10 out of ten. Cleaning the rooms every day, they were very friendly and polite and always there to help you.The people from the bar, from the restaurant, from the swimming pool, the cookers, los chicos de la plancha, a big Thank you and well done,if it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t give any stars at all. I will put some photos with the view and from hotel and a few from our room as well. I’m sorry but this is definitely NOT a...
