Vréneli, Ruud, Estrella and Estela couldn’t have been better hosts.||This is a fabulous space to relax in mountains of Andalusia, after an hour or so driving from Málaga airport. We hired a car from the airport and were glad to have chosen an automatic with a little more power than the average entry level rental car. The drive is fairly straightforward from Málaga airport along motorway/highway/freeway for 1/2 an hour or so then the road starts heading up the mountain just after Torre del Mar, it winds and snakes upwards for about another 1/2 an hour or so, with stunning picturesque views aplenty along the way. It is a 2 lane road all the way up, and as it is heading into the mountain range, there are some steep sections as well as some tight turns, but nothing too taxing and the roads were very well maintained.||By all accounts there are some amazing hikes, although the purpose of our trip was to switch off and relax as much as possible, and we had no intention of doing anything active.||It’s tough to beat a delightful breakfast, freshly prepared and beautifully presented by Estela or Estrella, either looking towards La Maroma (the highest peak of the Sierra de Tejeda) or, from the other side of the table, down the valley to the Mediterranean Sea. Made better still with quality coffee, (and Cava’s always an option). One of us has some dietary requirements which were very very well catered to, Vréneli and Ruud sought out what we wanted or needed to eat and drink.||Both Estrella and Estela were very patient with our extremely rudimentary Spanish conversations and have great local knowledge. Estrella very kindly made dinner reservations for us each night at different restaurants around Cómpeta, a short drive away. Our favourites were El Cortico Paco and for accommodating dietary requirements, the staff at El Pámpano were particularly helpful. ||While resting on the balcony of our room, we were treated to a pair of Golden Eagles casually circling above the landscape, which was a sight to be beholden. ||We have already recommended Málaga Hills to friends and colleagues since...
Read moreWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful B&B in Spain. The tranquility of the place is truly unique and perfect for anyone looking to unwind. Ruud, Vreneli, and Estrella went above and beyond to make our stay as pleasant as possible — nothing was too much for them. Since we wanted to go hiking early in the mornings, they kindly prepared a delicious breakfast for us ahead of time. We also received plenty of great tips for hikes in the area, which we really appreciated.||On our first evening, they had even made a reservation for us at a restaurant on the main square in Cómpeta — such a thoughtful gesture.||We had the smallest room without a terrace, but that didn’t bother us at all. The room stayed nice and cool, and there are plenty of lovely spots around the B&B to sit and relax. After our hikes, we preferred to simply rest in our room and recharge.||The location is beautifully quiet, with stunning views and close to Cómpeta — ideal for those who come to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Depending on the hikes you want to do, you may need to drive a bit, but we didn’t mind. It was a fair trade-off for the serenity the place offers.||The B&B also offers a wide range of wellness activities, which is a great plus for those seeking relaxation. We didn’t take part in any of these, as our focus was on having an active hiking holiday.||In the evenings, guests are welcome to enjoy a drink at the bar, which is perfect for those who enjoy a bit of socializing. We personally preferred to keep to ourselves and wind down quietly, but it’s clear that the hosts go out of their way to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.||All in all, a fantastic place for both those seeking peace and quiet, and those looking for outdoor adventure. We look back on our stay with...
Read moreI just had to come back! I absolutely love this place!
Its the perfect place to relax from your busy workweek. Peaceful, quiet, luxurious alongside with some beautiful mountain views and vibrant sunsets. Grab yourself an ice cold beer, lay next to the pool or go for a walk in the mountains to clear your head.
What I personally like is that it's a luxury bed and breakfast. So you get an authentic cute little Spanish breakfast in the morning (celebrated with champagne!) but are free to have dinner somewhere else in this beautiful village nearby (Competa) or Malaga.
The rooms are excellent as well. Cozy beds (not the ones with a split in between), a brilliant shower, quiet and beautiful views. Great with the details as well; a coffee machine in the room and shampoo and showergel from Rituals.
Moreover, the host and hostess are super friendly, welcoming and have the best tips to explore the area. They're incredibly social and create an atmosphere in which you easily get to meet to other guest as well. I 100% recommend the Friday paella night made by the best chef from the village!
Second time I’ve been here and still 10/10! See you soon...
