Arte de obra — Hotel in Haría

Spent a week in Haria at end January 2013. Director of Arte, German lady Bettina Bork, has some rooms and an apartment at the Arte centre in the middle of Haria, and another 2 apartments at her house on the outskirts of the town (about 7 min walk from town centre). My wife and I stayed in the upper apartment (no.3) at her house, and it was very good - double bedroom, kitchen/livingroom, terrace, and bath/shower/toilet room - small and compact, but well appointed, very clean and neat, and has everything. Bettina is great company, and full of information about Lanzarote art and heritage, and the late artist Cesar Manrique (who is such a dominant figure in the island's character and aspect - she worked with him for a number of years).||Haria is a great location in Lanzarote - a quiet oasis of palms in the mountains, great views, typical Lz architecture, 35 min drive from airport, 5 min drive to coastal Arrieta (nice beach, better supermarket than Haria, good restaurants), close to a number of attractions (Jameos de Agua, Cuevas Vertes, Orzola, Mirador del Rio, etc). And best of all - it is absolutely nothing like the sprawling and anonymous coastal resorts such Carmen, Blanca and Costa Teguise! Haria is real Lanzarote, and a great base to explore the best of the island - Orzola and the north, old Teguise, Playa Famara, Timanfaya volcanic national park, El Golfo in the west, etc etc - driving is easy (apart from some confusing signage around the airport), and no place is more than 1 hour from Haria. ||Weather was ok - little enough clear sunshine when we were there, but temps about 17-22 all the time, breezy enough too. Zimmer/Apartment/Haus: das Haus ist sehr schön eingerichtet, angelegt und sauber. Vor allem die tollen bequemen und sauberen Betten sind hervorzuheben!!! Wir haben uns sofort sehr wohl gefühlt. Es gibt eine Gemeinschaftsküche (allerdings wollten wir immer das tolle einheimische Essen genießen), aber man auch absolut seine Ruhe haben und ein Apartment mit eigener Küche buchen. Unser Apartments war das obere im Arte de Obra - Haus. Leider wird kein Frühstück angeboten- das gibt es aber sonst auch selten in Unterkünften auf Lanzarote und es ist eine tolle Atmosphäre auf dem nahe gelegenen Dorfplatz ein leckeres Brötchen (höchstens 2,50 Euro, reich belegt) mit frisch gepressten O-Saft (2,30 Euro) einzunehmen (Rincón del Quito). Auch zum Abendessen ist man Ruck-Zuck in Arrietas und geniesst tollen Fisch oder Paella im Casa de la Playa mit Meeresrauschen (beides Tipps von Bettina). ||Die Gastgeberin Bettina: Sie kennt sich aus und das ist gold Wert, wenn man mit dem Mietauto die Insel erkunden möchte. Bettina hat uns so tolle Tipps/Tagesausflüge zusammengestellt, die im Nachhinein alle Sinn machten (so dass wir lange Warteschlangen aufgrund von Busanreisenden umgehen konnten) und uns so die schönsten Dinge auf der Insel angeschaut. Nicht zu vergessen den Ratschlag, an einem Samstagabend ins Jameos del Agua zu gehen - Wahnsinns Atmosphäre. Wir wären ohne Sie nie dorthin gegangen. Man spürt die Herzlichkeit, mit der sie die Touristen zu Gast hat und ihr waren unsere täglichen Fragen nie zu viel! So bekommt man auch mal einen Teller voller Feigen vom eigenen Baum hingestellt. Auch ihre Restaurantstipps haben Hand und Fuss. Das einzige Restaurant, das wir mit dem Reiseführer raussuchten, zweifelte sie an und das im Nachhinein zurecht. ||Katzen/Hunde: ich muss ehrlich sagen, dass ich zu Beginn sehr skeptisch demgegenüber war. Ich bin kein großer Tierfreund. Und schon direkt nach Ankunft wusste ich, dass dies unbegründet ist. Es gibt klare Regeln, die zwei süßen (!!!!) Hunde und Katzen gehen einem aus dem Weg, sind nicht aufdringlich und dürfen nicht in die Zimmer (und das wissen sie). ||Lage: Als wir in Lanzarote ankamen und uns auf Unterkunftssuche begaben (Inselhopping), dachten erst an ein schönes Zimmer am Meer, vielleicht in einem kleinem Fischerörtchen mit der nötigen Infrastruktur (Restaurants etc.). Es wurde uns aber dann schnell klar, dass es das schwer auf Lanzarote gibt. Nach Abwägen ist Haría einer der schönsten Orte für eine Unterkunft auf Lanzarote - ruhig, ursprünglich, guter Ausgangspunkt zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten und mit tollen Restaurants...

Arte de obra è assolutamente un posto magico!||Il centro è situato in un piccolo villaggio, lontano dalle grandi strutture alberghiere della parte "turistica" dell' isola.....è lontano da discoteche e centri rumorosi e si immerge fra le mille palme de Haria.|| Sia i mini appartmamentini, tutti molto, molto curati, puliti ed ordinati, che le camere sono munite di tutto punto.||Le camere inoltre usufruiscono di una cucina comune in cui si trovano i piu comuni elettrodomestici ed in cui è possibile dilettarsi liberamente nelle giornate di lettura o per cucinare un energico pasto dopo le lunghe camminate che da qui si possono fare sulla paja del Risco o lungo i mille percorsi che si possono trovare sull'isola.||||Ogni stanza ha molti libri, soprattutto in tedesco, su cui si possono trovare informazioni sui luighi da visitare, ed in cucina é presente un quaderno con tutti i suggerimenti dei visitatori precedenti.||||La sistemazione come detto puo essere diversa, ci sono sia gli appartamentini dislocati in giro per l'abitato di haria, che appartamentini presenti al secondo piano della struttura principale (il centro di arte e cultura Arte de Obra appunto). Al piano inferiore su un cortile centrale, si affacciano le porte della cucina comune, della reception e delle camere (sia singole che matrimoniali), se volete risparmiare ulteriormente (i prezzi sono decisamente ragionevoli), è possibile scegliere tra due camere singole che hanno il bagno in comune presso una struttura esterna (nulla di preoccupante, anche il bagno in comune è assolutamente fornito e pulitissimo, dotato anche di una comodissima lavatrice).||||Gli animali sono ben accetti, al centro risiedono stabilmente alcuni cagnolini ed anche moltissimi gatti!||||Infine, tocco di classe e punto di culmine della struttura, la struttura è gestita da persone splendide e disponibili: Bettina, Santiago e Christine!||||Non ve...
