Hotel Jaqués — Hotel in Jaca

After a promising start where the receptionist was helpful and showed us where to park our motorcycles, the breakfast the following morning was a different story. The guy taking the orders was extremely unfriendly. There was no menu when I asked. He then asked if I was listening to his description of what was available to a neighbouring table. When I said no he raised his eyes to heaven and began running through the options again. I asked if he had cereal and all I got was a straight no. |After our breakfast was finished my friend said he’d like another coffee which simply elicited a blank stare. As the waiter was looking at me I assumed he’d heard and we waited. He then began serving others. I then asked if the coffee was coming and he got angry. The coffee arrived with no apology of any kind. |I felt like saying that I was sorry to inconvenience him by asking for some service and that I’d be happy to leave and make his life easier. Of course, without any customers this oaf would have no job. |This hotel is very popular with us British bikers but the moron serving breakfast will lose business faster...

Un hotel correcto, limpio, espartano pero con detalles quizá incluso por encima de lo que se espera en un dos estrellas (como baño completo con bidé, y los sanitarios en muy buena condición). Buena presión en la ducha (bañera), buena climatización en la habitación. Destaca la localización, que siendo céntrica no se ve afectada por el bullicio nocturno de las zonas aledañas. En todo caso el aislamiento acuático nos ha parecido también excelente, con persianas automáticas que proporcionan obscuridad total para quienes la necesitamos para dormir en condiciones. En nuestra habitación las dos camas tenían buena anchura y longitud, sin problemas para una persona de 1.90, con somier y colchón sin concesiones al lujo pero comodidad más que suficiente. Personal amable, correcto. El desayuno en la linea del establecimiento, justo pero interessante y suficiente para salir bien almorzado: zumos a elegir, unas opciones saladas (tortillas, bocadillos...), a añadir a otras dulces (bizcocho, croissant...) más café o similar. El menú bien salva una cena tras un día o viaje en el que uno no está para andar dando vueltas por Jaca porque ha olvidado reservar, y el precio es muy competitivo, con opción a lanzarse también a una comida (o cena!) basada en chuletón kilo para dos personas. Mi problema particular con este hotel ha sido que reservé plaza de aparcamiento y al llegar me conducen a un garaje frente al hotel sin advertirme o caer en la cuenta de que mi coche, de casi 5 m y de los más anchos del mercado se iba a quedar encajado en la rampa con giro a la derecha, una esquina en un lado, un escalón en el otro. Me cuesta más reparar pintura y bollo que lo que me ha costado el fin de semana en el hotel, añadiendo algunas comidas. Al menos no me han cobrado el aparcamiento. Hubiera bastado advertirme o permitirme ver el garaje imposible y la plaza improbable antes de conducirme al mismo para evitar...

First time visiting Jaca and will definately return, what a lovely spot. Hotel was right in the centre of the old town just opposite from the citadel and two minutes from the cathedral. Lovely friendly staff, clean rooms and a super breakfast in the adjoining cafe. When we go again I will probably eat there too as it had a real authentic feel. It does have some parking places but we ended up parked in the municipal underground car park under a plaza behind the cathedral. The hotel organised a good rate for us which was at least a 5 euro saving. Would...
