There were elements of this hotel that we were pleased with. It was good to be in the centre for the Fiesta weekend and the staff were pleasant, particularly the lovely girl who prepared and served breakfast. Having access to the coffee machine was also a plus.|However the serious downside was our room, the deluxe double with patio. It felt like a dull basement with little brightness getting in as the patio doors led to a tiny enclosed area. There was a mugginess which got worse after a very heavy downpour during our four days and that night we tossed and turned. In the morning we asked if we asked if we could have clean sheets but were told NO, only for stays of five days or more and were given two clean pillow slips to change ourselves. |There were no bedside tables and the lamp switches were inaccessible from the bed.|The kettle was in the dark wardrobe (no where else for it to go!) very awkward. |We discovered there was a light switch in the corridor outside our room so after a couple of days we were able to make it safer to access our room which had two st|eps as you entered and was dangerous in the dark. This light should either be on permanently or automatic with sensor. |This was a special occasion (anniversary & birthday) which is why we chose this expensive hotel and felt disappointed. I reminded them of the occasion again and we were allowed to help ourselves to a drink from the honesty bar. Not quite the same as being greeted with a bottle of cava in the room we have...
Read moreThe hotel is very quiet and ideally situated for shops, bars and many highly recommended restaurants. |We booked a deluxe room with a patio and were allocated room 14. The patio is up on the roof via some steep steps accessed from a vestibule outside of the bedroom door, I felt the stairs were dangerous and were an issue due to mobility, once up the stairs there are two cafe style chairs and a small table. There is also a window overlooking it from another room! Not ideal or what I was expecting. It would make more sense to use the hotels roof terrace than pay for a patio on the roof (we’ve not seen the shared terrace as upstairs and no lift). I asked if we could be moved to one of the rooms shown on the website with the patio off the bedroom but unfortunately they were already occupied. Mar (very nice lady on reception) offered to move us to a suite 2 days later but that didn’t have a patio or to an alternative patio room some days after that. We declined both as we’d unpacked and were settled. We appreciated Mars attempt to help. Breakfast is good and all staff were very friendly. We ended up paying a lot of money for a cosy room without a patio, we didn’t ask and we weren’t offered a reimbursement for not being able to use the patio. Although it had negatively impacted our stay, we would recommend the hotel but would add an advisory note to check which room and whether there are any...
Read moreCan Alberti is a beautiful, characterful boutique hotel set in a tastefully restored historic residence. It’s located in a quiet street of the old town but is only a very short walk from all the restaurants, sites and shops of the old town and port areas. Our room was a very comfortable base for our exploration of Menorca, with a small private roof patio. The breakfast was beautifully laid out each morning and offered quite a wide range of options for such a small hotel. There was roasted coffee, tea and snacks available in the dining room throughout the day for when we had an attack of the munchies. But perhaps the best aspect of the hotel was the friendly, helpful and expert service provided by all the staff members. In Menorca booking restaurants in advance is essential and not always easy to do. The hotel staff gave us excellent advice on the best restaurants to sample the excellent Minorcan cuisine and made all the restaurant and taxi bookings for us. The hotel’s WhatsApp service allowed us to easily stay in touch with them while we were out and about and when I lost my watch in a taxi they went above and beyond to find it and return it to me. Excellent service from lovely people. We strongly recommend a stay at the...
