(1) Wow where do I start…. 🙄 THE WORST hotel I’ve stayed in in Salou, I’ve been 8 times, consequently, in LOVE with Salou, but this hotel was the worst aspect of the whole holiday. ||•had to upgrade to balcony room. Window rooms are small, damp, dark and the washing line is hanging over the extra single bed…? So would have stunk out the room, making the bed damp. (€60 to upgrade) slept in this room for 1 night, ac was broke, and yes, the balcony door was closed. ||•Got the new room the next day, there was food and sand on the floor, milk left in the fridge and stains on every piece of bedding. |Bedding NOT CHANGED at all for 7 nights. |•Was given towels with HOLES in them…||•Our friends room STUNK of feet their whole trip. |•bar staff RUDE, dismissive and not friendly in any way. ||•check in was SOMETHING ELSE. Can you explain why we had to send a screenshot of my comfirmation email and email it to their hotel email address, surly they should have this information? Was such a hassle as the receptionists English was poorly, being such an unusual “check-in” it was a struggle. ||•THE FOOD 🤮(only got breakfast) don’t bother, I’ve had buffets, I understand the standard is lower, and yes there would be colder food if you come later for example, but ALL food was cold, a very bland small selection, very little fresh fruit, which was questionably fresh to say the least. ||Our friends where all inclusive, had one night of dinner and didn’t go back. 🤷♀️ ||•said friends were all inclusive, me and another one was B&B, simply because we booked later, the first thing they were told when they went to get drinks was to not share with us, as they will charge us anyways. We were not doing this as the 1 other friend doesn’t drink, and I simply wasn’t fussed on their cocktail selection. We were not being shady in any way. Thought this was such a rude remark. |And even if they wanted to share, isn’t that their right….??? ||•these “all inclusive drinks” were watered down fruit juice, little achohol with no presentation. My friends stopped getting them after day 3. ||•MAIDS DON’T KNOCK, walked in on MULTIPLE TIMES. Ridiculous. ||•THE ELEVATORS!!!!! this hotel is NOT disability friendly, the elevators are RIDICULOUSLY slow, CLOSE ON PEOPLE GETTING IN, got crushed by the door multiple times and witnessed it happen to others, will not stop if u put your hand out. They are so slow that people are changing their mind, taking the stairs, then the lift stops AT EVERY FLOOR. (Also no air conditioning in the lifts, and VERY small) for the amount of time that we were up and down in that lift AC is a must. |We were on the 8th floor, when check out came we waited 15 MINS for the lift, as we couldn’t fit in with bags and people. To make matters worse. 1 out of the 2 lifts were OUT OF ORDER, meaning the wait was even longer. ||I asked for a boss/manager to speak to about this, the receptionist said there isn’t one today and asked how she could help, I explained how the lifts are a health and safety risk making questionable door movements and sounds, along with the wait time and no ac, she THEN said she would get the boss. Waited 20 mins, when I went back up she said the boss was busy, and handed me a government complaint form. ||•pool area 🌊 had to pull out our own deck chairs every morning, leading to a chaotic, not well spaced and jammed sun loungers area by 3pm, why can’t they just be lift out in an orderly way by staff? |Park 2 (sister hotel) THIS POOL WAS TAKEN OVER BY NO JOKE, HUNDEREDS OF FOOTBALL KIDS. So so loud, rough and chaotic. (Simply don’t go in June) ||AN EXCUSE OF A HOTEL, WILL...
Read more4k for a week from hell.||Currently staying here as a family of 8, I was wary about the reviews on here but I thought I’d give it a chance but it’s actually worse than the reviews. It’s hell I have never stayed in a place as bad as this, I’ve been to Salou many times and never had a problem but this is beyond a joke and I will not be using jet2 in the future as they are no help what so ever.||Firstly upon arrival our room wasn’t ready for 4 hours, we have 3 kids and 2 of them under 5 plus a disabled lady with us. Been told we can pop our stuff in a room and just wait for it to be available far from ideal in 35 degrees.||The reception staff and staff in the dinner hall are extremely rude, my nan had a fall I asked the reception staff if they could help me find a doctor they ignored my request and told me “no understand”.||The dinner staff asked us if we wanted drinks we ordered 6 drinks and only 5 brought I questioned this and guess what “no understand” again but yet I was charged for 6 drinks.||There was blood all over the side of the pool and the floor yesterday, I told reception and again she didn’t understand so I brought her out side to show her she shrugged her shoulders and walked away, where’s pool maintenance oh wait there isn’t any, I cleaned the blood up my self so my children wasn’t standing in it. The pool is untidy and doesn’t get cleaned at the end of the day, 3 parasols for the whole hotel.||It’s peak season and highs of 36 degrees so that’s not ideal.||The aircon in our room doesn’t work and we have been refused to move rooms.||The food I wouldn’t feed my dog as it’s absolutely rank. Nothing available for children, the hotel shows that there is a park on site which is a lie, there is a park in kids club which is open for 1 hour a day, no entertainment through the day and been one show on a night so far in 4 days.||I would avoid this at all cost, we booked this 1 week before we come and paid 4k which is ridiculous but after a tough year we needed a break. The hotel is filled with hundreds and I mean hundreds of Spanish school kids on a football trip or school trip, loud rowdy and really unpleasant, up all night shouting knocking on doors, in the pool till all hours. This is more of a party hotel and would not recommend it to any family.||People pushing and been rude to get through to the restaurant at meals time it’s honestly a joke, all big tables reserved for the school kids so as a family of 8 we’re over 3 tables which is a nightmare.||I contacted jet2 and asked them if they could move us hotels took 48 hours to responds and quoted us over £800 to move which is an absolutely joke.||On our last day a Spanish lady was screaming in my face by the pool, totally confused so I got google transfer up and asked her what the issue was where she accused my child of kicking hers in the pool, I explained this would of been as accident whilst swimming and told my daughter to apologise the spanish lady then proceeded to kick me and hurl abuse in mine and my child’s face, sticking her middle finger up at a 5 year old, what the actual hell. In a week stay we didn’t have the beds changed one, got clean towels every other day and had the floor swept once, this hotel states that they have daily cleaning, they absolutely do not. Filthy hotel broken glass in the elevator still having blood all over it||Absolute awful week.||This hotel is in a very steep hill so not suitable for prams or anyone with...
Read moreWe stayed in a double/twin room with sea view. The view was exactly as advertised, it was amazing, the view of the pool and sea was magnificent. Howevwe, when we entered the room at first there was a puddle on the floor, someone had left the fridge door opened and it had leaked in the room. As for the room, it was 2 single beds pushed together, the bed I slept on was very uncomfortable I woke up with a sore back. Thankfully on the second day I noticed a spare mattress was under the other bed so I swapped them over and it was much more comfortable. The pillows were very hard and uncomfortable, we woke up most mornings with a sore neck. The shower wouldn't stay upright and just slumped over which was really annoying. Be aware you have to pay for a safe, kettle and the use of the fridge (we opted not to do this as it is a bit of a farce for a "4 star hotel"). The air-con doesn't really work, it's just a noisy box. The towels provided are very old, dirty and are pretty much see through also not of them had holes in them. There are only 2 lifts to the rooms, with 8 floors these are really busy, especially at meal times. The pool is okay, a bit small, there is apparently a pool bar, however this is not in use and looks like it hasn't been for a very long time. I would also say there should be a lifeguard at the pools, as it is rather deep. The staff in the hotel are not the most welcoming, I would say that the manager, who walks about in a navy/black polo shirt is a very rude man. Caught him on many occasions barking orders to staff in front of customers, which is not very pleasant when you are trying to relax. However I must say Robinson and Isobel who work on the bar were very nice, and would have a little chat with us. I felt that all inclusive customers were treated differently to other customers. People paying for for drinks would get them in glasses whereas we were given them in plastic cups. Staff certainly preferred Spanish customers, and would have a full blown conversation with them after serving them and then tend to us. The entertainment was okay, however the music played throughout the day was very repetitive, they must've had a bank of 8/9 songs on repeat all day every day which got very tiresome. The food in the restaurant was edible, very bland and EXTREMELY OILY, which led to us feeling ill most days. On our last morning, my partner started to eat a fried egg, only to realise that the shell was still attached to it. My partner was up all night one evening being sick due to the food. The staff in the restaurant were extremely rude, on one occasion they had lifted my plate and moved it to another table whilst I was up getting myself a drink of juice without telling me. I had to look around the dining room to find my plate. They would take your drinks away when you were up getting more food, didn't see any of them smile. Not welcoming at all.
To end on a positive note, the location was ideal. Not right in the main tourist part where all the pubs are, but close enough to walk to if that is what you are wanting. The beach is a 2 minute walk away either down a steep hill or down stairs.
Would we return? No Would I recommend this place? No Is it 4 stars? Absolutely not. I would give it 2 stars, 3 if I was...
