Bamboo - Salou — Restaurant in Salou

An absolute horrendous experience. Dropped into this Restuarant on a Thursday to reserve a table for Saturday night, family of 5, 8pm. Was told I had to pay deposit of €10 for the reservation which I duly did. Requested a table near the front (1st or 2nd row) to enjoy sunset. Assured I’d have either row. Arrived on Saturday, 5 mins early, greeted by a Spanish man with a red baseball hat. Tried to put us in the back/inside, I explained what I had requested/booked/been told would be no problem. He brought us to a table that would accommodate maximum 4 people, I told him it was too small, he cheekily lifted an ashtray from the table and said now it’s bigger. I insisted on a table that could comfortably accommodate 5, eventually getting it. The ladies that took drinks and food orders were pleasant …. That’s as far as the positives go. The food was average, the staff continue to approach the table to take away your plates, finished or not. To the point that after the 4th time I got irrate and told them to leave us alone until we finish our meal or I’d walk without paying. For the 1 hour we sat there, they played an 80s song on repeat/loop to drive you out of the establishment. An absolute shambles from start to finish. PLUS massively overpriced. Do not be hood winked by the beautiful views or the physical restuarant itself which is very appealing to the eye. This is a tourist trap of the highest order. I’m coming to Salou for 10 years and am annoyed with myself that I fell for it! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Gave it 1 star as no option to provide zero stars! Salou has so much to offer. Staff was just chilling and smoking on the terras while my husband got his food we had to wait 30 minutes after he finished his food until i got mine. we ordered 2 drinks and 2 meals and it took us about 1,5 to 2 hours to receive everything. Even though the terras was only half full. I ordered a drink and received the wrong flavour after repeating what i wanted multiple times. The food had 0 taste. Chicken burger was horrible its supposed to be spicy, there was not a single hint of any spice or even salt on there. Staff started arguing with a customer who complained that their food was also taking too long. Then the waitress just walked of from the situation which then 3 other waiters started speaking to the customers in a unamused matter. Also quite rude for the staff personel to not want to awnser questions we had about the food because she didnt want to bother to try to understand english. And what also bothered us and other customers is that we went to sit away from the crowd due to cigarette smoke. Only for the staff to continuously smoke right next to us and other customers inclusing a pregnant lady. I never leave reviews let alone bad ones. But honestly this restaurant needs a big change. Thanks to Hodie and the team! We went here tonight for food and drinks, and the food was excellent, however we were greeted with one of the most miserable waitresses (braids and glasses). We ordered the meat nachos, and asked for cream cheese and she advised she could not do this. We pointed to the veggie option and showed her the white sour cream and asked if we could have a side of it with our meat nachos - we couldn’t have been any clearer with what we wanted and she continued to say no no no you cannot get that - her attitude was disgusting. My partner then said it’s ok we won’t eat and will just finish our cocktails to which she then snatched the menu off me and slammed it down on the table behind us and walked away. Partner was so shocked by this treatment he went and spoke with the manager, Samhuel and he was absolutely fantastic. He was so apologetic, listened to our concerns and really made us feel so welcome. He sent a fabulous waiter over to us and we explained we wanted nachos with a cream side to dip, he instantly said that’s no problem. Our food came and it was incredible - Samhuel checked in on us constantly; was so kind and had amazing customer service. The waitress really brings down this bar - but the service from the rest of the team really makes up for it, thank you very much we really enjoyed...
