The stay at this Barcelo was disappointing compared to a previous positive experience at a different Barcelo. Unfortunately this is a place I would never go back to. We were welcomed at the reception. We chose for a stay with only breakfast. We asked to pay for parking so we could park our rental car safely. This turned out to be a very big dissapointment. I counted that I had to get out of the car eight times to ask for the gate to be opened, because the gate did not open at all times. This was never met with an apology or compensation. The room we had was modern. Hallway leading up to the room and the bathroom were outdated. Noticed that the beds were covered in sand. Did not inspect the room for cleanliness at the time (due to being tired). We ordered roomservice via the Barcelo App and it was brought up to our room quickly. It was delicious. We also arrived to find some water and a filled minibar. The breakfast was okay. Big selection of drinks and food. The variety did not change except for some pastries. Lovely perk is that you could have breakfast outside if you wanted to. Breakfast staff was very welcoming. After the first night we noticed that housekeeping means making the beds (some days leaving some water) and changing the towels (if you leave them on the floor). We only had a hanger for clean and tidy, but housekeeping would come in if you did not hang it on your door. The room was very dirty (dust, mold in bathroom, hair on toiletseat and stains everywhere) and I noticed it bothered me a lot that nothing was being cleaned. Also the bedsheets were not changed once during the stay (I know because there was a tear in my bedsheet). Leaving a big tip did not help either (look at some of the pictures attached). The animation team was fun and inviting. Lots of activities. The entertainment at night was mostly great quality. The pools were nice (but cold) and good to see there were lots of sunbeds and showers available. The pool up the stairs was surrounded by a lot of water and not really safe for kids to be running. We made use of the gym three times. It was not the most clean place, but it is a good addition to the hotel. On the first day there were no towels/water cups (but on day 2/3 of gymming there were plenty of towels and cups available). Had lunch at breeze two times. You had to make a reservation, which by the way could be advertised more. Fortunately the staff could almost always seat us. The food was nice. Also nice to have a drink there or inside at the bar. Lastly: the wellness. I booked a Ayurvedic massage and a Vitamine C + C facial for myself and a swedish massage for my boyfriend. The swedish massage was good. For me the Ayurvedic massage was nothing more than an hour long of soft strokes. I looked up afterwards what it was supposed to be like and it was not what I received. It was pretty relaxing, but it did not reduce any pains I was having. Also the staff member was coughing a lot and the music kept getting stuck which disrupted relaxation. After that I got a 55 minute long facial. What to me was more like basic skincare (if you could call it that). There was no explanation, but she cleaned my skin with an oil and some wipes. The water she used was cold to semi lukewarm. After that she scrubbed my skin about twice. First with a pretty harsh scrub then a softer scrub. Lastly a face mask was put on. The whole experience consisted of 15 minuted putting on and 40 minutes of waiting. That it was cleaned of with again some wipes (it did not feel like a cloth), dry tissues and I left to pay. I was flabbergasted by the whole experience to be honest and I still had grains of the scrub on my neck. The next morning my neck and cleavage were very bumpy. Now very bumpy and scratchy. I looked it up and apparantly this can be an allergic reaction (I'm not allergic to anything that I know). I have a gut feeling it has to do with not cleansing my skin properly with warm water. Overall, the stay did not meet expectations. Not worth the money at all. Go spend it somewhere else.

One of the worst experience in my life. We arrived here for our honeymoon, this is what happened: - They told us to put our lagguage in the hotel reception (exactly on the side of the main door) cause the security room was full (in the same place there was already 10 to 20 suitcases). I suppose that if you have hundreds of rooms you should have also a security room big enough to store a lot of lagguage. - They gave us the room number and told us to go to the resturant down stairs without explaining anything about the hotel. - The room has quite new fornitures but there are dust everywhere. - In the room we had 2 single beds instead of 1 double bed (of course, the recptionist send us someone to join the beds). Consider that we booked as honeymoon. - Both beds are woobling (see the attached video), so the receptsionist send us a mechanical assistant to fix the legs - The room is really dirty: I found something "strange" in one of the menu on the room (see picture), a nest made by some insect near the window and the bathroom was dirty too. Al this happend within a 2 to 3 of hours since we arrived. At this point we choose to search another place to stay in our honeymoon and we found it. But we have to pass the first night in this place cause the other one has no free rooms on monday evening. We come back in the hotel at around 7.30PM and guess what? The room we had has the door blocked. The door lock dosen't work anymore. We go to the resturant for the dinner and, after coming back, we go to the reception again to discover that, we payed for a all-inclusive premium but they booked as all-inclusive so, no free drinks at the hotel. Once we told the receptionist that we are not able to open our room door she answered joking "you can sleep here on the reception in any case". Of course, she also offered to send someone to check. The guy come upstair and stay with us, in our first honeymoon night, up until 10.45PM trying to repair the broken lock. At 11PM he decide that is not possible to repair and block the lock opened. I go down to recption again to tell about that we will leave the room in the next morning also if we booked for 7 days telling the receptionist that it was one of the worst place I ever seen and the only answer was "This is your opinion". Of course she also asked me why I don't ask for a room change but, since we booked a superior room, with a queen-sized bed, and the room was so bad, I was afraid to ask for another room that can be also worst! Anyway, I think that this hotel is relly bad maintained, broken lights everywhere, old fornitures directly from the 70's, not trained personal, a lack of quality policies. I think that after 3 times being in reception to report problems I deserve an "Dear customer, we are sorry for your experience". I still waiting for it.

We stayed at the hotel for a week and I can honestly say it was great. Firstly, the room is nice and spacious, with plenty of storage for your clothes & belongings, along with nice beds, powerful shower, air con and a lovely balcony with good views of the hotel grounds. The hotel has just had a refurb, so everything feels fresh and modern. Because our flight was delayed by 6hrs and missed dinner, the reception staff kept us some sandwiches and snacks aside for us for when we arrived which was really kind. Not very often you have that done for you! We went all inclusive, so that meant we got breakfast, lunch and dinner, along with as many snacks, drinks & ice creams we wanted. They have 5 main counters where you can get foods from. A pizza counter, gluten free/pasta, hot foods, salads/desserts/sushi etc along with a bread counter and many drinks machines around the room. Me and my partner are quite fussy eaters, but we always found something to suit us. The hotel staff work really hard at making appetising foods and creating a lovely atmosphere to sit in. The only improvement I could say, is that some of the translation of foods isn’t 100% accurate. For example, one food just translates to “puddin”, or some drinks/foods didn’t seem to have a label so I avoided those incase I didn’t like them. Typically, hotels generally lack in the entertainment department. However, every day at 10pm there was always a different show taking place on stage. Whether they were singers or dancers, they always did a great job at keeping the families entertained. There were also activities happening throughout the daytime to get people involved such as water polo and cycling in the water(?). One thing you can’t fault is how tirelessly the staff work to catering for all the guests. Not just the kitchen staff, I mean everyone. The cleaners came every day whilst we were out and made the beds, gave us new towels, mopped and swept all throughout for our return; The reception staff were always friendly and happy to help; the pool staff making sure tables were clean and beds reset for the next guests. I could go on and on. I’d just like to say thank you for all their hard work in what they do. Overall, the experience was great. The only few niggles I had were the room doors seem to slam quite loud (I understand they are fire doors but I’ve heard quieter) which on a few accessions, woke me up. The shower also once ran out of water, and there was a cracked tile in the bathroom. However, these are just nitpicking as everything else was excellent which is why I rate the place 5*. Definitely recommended.

Me (21) and my girlfriend (18) enjoyed our stay for 6 days straight and we are very happy with this choice and we highly recommend it. We booked all inclusive with the junior suite, which gave us additional access to the royal area, where customers with normal rooms don't have the access to. Also, the junior suites are in a separate building with a separate reception.

Royal Area: The royal area includes a separate pool, a separate bar and a few sunbeds with curtains (these are adults only) and a separate eating place. In contrast to the normal area it was really quiet, cleaner and there was enough space to get a sunbeds. The normal area also has two pools with two bars. Royal Area Food & Drinks: We mostly tasted the food in the royal buffet, which was a la carte and can be booked through their hotel app. Make sure you book every meal (breakfast, lunch and dinner) one day in advance to make sure you really have the space. The food was very delicious in the royal area but it wasn't as big as the normal buffet (in non royal area) but obviousely that's okay because there are not as many royal people as normal hotel guests and that's why you have to book, so they know how many people to expect. The variety was also really good. It's also really quite and cozy to eat in the roofed royal area because the normal buffet is inside and it was too noizy for us (families, children etc.). We also ate at the normal buffet once because we missed the lunch time and the food was also good.

There's also a fridge with branded ice creams and you can ask an employer to open it for you. Beside, if you order for example a vodka, you get brand alcohol (for example Absolut Vodka) in the royal area, we've heard "normal" customers get a cheaper alternative, which was also very nice to have. But that wasn't really important to us. You can always get the typical soft drinks (Cola, Fanta, Sprite ..), water and coffe in self-service and there was also a self-service beer tap, which was amazing. There were also ice cubes if you wanted to.

Royal Area Smoking: You're only allowed to smoke in certain areas but you can simply ask for an ashtray. You're also not allowed to smoke on the balcony.

Junior suite room: The room was very clean and everything looked new and worked great. We also had sea view, which was nice too. It had everything needed, even a coffee machine. The minibar got filled at the beginning of our stay and you can simply refill it by getting drink cans from the reception (it has a small buffet with drinks and food - I guess for people leaving early). The room service was also good.

Employers: The employers were very nice to us and we felt really special and welcome throughout the day. The servers were fast and also very kind and always fullfilled our wishes. Show & Animation: Every day at 10pm there is a show with extern groups (dance, magic ..) and throughout the day sometimes the animation team do their own little perfomances and shows. We met the young animators Raffa, Chris and Arancha which are really lovely and welcoming. They did their job great.

Disco / Club: The discothek inside of the hotel area was closed and we didn't know why. For us young people, there was no option to be up late and party or drink, the bar closes at 12pm. To be fair, it's also not a party hotel so we didn't expect much and we got used to it. So, we went outside of the hotel and we asked the animators Chris and Arancha for some tips and they hooked us up with some locations which we're great. We really enjoyed our stay at the Barcelo Margaritas with the all inclusive and the royal access and we would always book again. The all inclusive junior suite is highly recommended if you're looking for a chill and relaxing holiday. All informations you need are inside their app!

Beach: There's a shuttle bus which takes you to maspalomas and playa del ingles beach and back. The times for departing are inside of the app.

Thanks for...

One of the worst experience in my life. We arrived here for our honeymoon, this is what happened: They told us to put our lagguage in the hotel reception (exactly on the side of the main door) cause the security room was full (in the same place there was already 10 to 20 suitcases). I suppose that if you have hundreds of rooms you should have also a security room big enough to store a lot of lagguage. They gave us the room number and told us to go to the resturant down stairs without explaining anything about the hotel. The room has quite new fornitures but there are dust everywhere. In the room we had 2 single beds instead of 1 double bed (of course, the recptionist send us someone to join the beds). Consider that we booked as honeymoon. Both beds are woobling (see the attached video), so the receptsionist send us a mechanical assistant to fix the legs The room is really dirty: I found something "strange" in one of the menu on the room (see picture), a nest made by some insect near the window and the bathroom was dirty too.

I still...
