A truly remarkable experience. Everyone knows that visiting San Sebastián guarantees quality food among beautiful architecture next door to its beautiful Concha seaside promenade, but Nobu comes into the scene breaking the mold of any former setting.
Nestled on the hill across Santa Clara island, you walk into a complete sensorial experience.
From the friendly Japanese greeting upon arrival, to the scent of the lobby or the perfect blend of oriental and nautical themes, you know you’re going to enjoy your evening as you set foot into the building.
Fusing Asian and Japanese cuisine with top notch local produce, it’s a feast for your taste buds. Starting off with the spicy edamame, followed by the most tender sashimi with a hint of jalapeño in addition to the exquisite wine list available- our evening could not start better. The batter and tempura from the king crab or the fun, crackling of the crispy rice with tuna or the freshness of the spinach salad blended with parmesana and ponzu, it’s the heavenly mix for your palate.
We finished our evening with an assortment of the most devine sushi, quality fish, quality technique - just excellent. However, I would highlight the surprise of the wagyu sushi, sublime, truly fantastic mix.
To round off a magnificent experience, which could not have been possible without Jota who made sure we tried the sake and introduced each ingredient from each plate, very knowledgeable and ever so kind, we finished and made our way up to the bar.
Lorenzo greeted us on the top floor and personalized each cocktail, asking which flavors we preferred.
As all good things, our evening also had to come to an end. Drink in hand (vodka, honey, jalapeño and lime) overlooking the gorgeous view, listening to the waves crash in beautiful San Sebastián. What a perfect night!
Would most definitely recommend and hope to...
Read moreMixed feelings about hotel. It’s a cute little boutique hotel in a great quiet location away from the main area and a beautiful stroll in… really liked my morning walks into town. It’s NOT Nobu and it also falls very short in terms of what you would expect from the brand or any luxury boutique hotel.
Don’t waste your money. Far better hotels with better facilities, rooms and professional hotelier service. Pool was closed and we weren’t notified and hotel advertised what looked like a beautiful pool area, gym is basic and small and you have to pay to use “their” Wellness facilities located at another venue down the road.
It was probably one of the worst arrival experiences to a hotel. The lady who checked us in was rude and lazy. A few of the front office staff came across miserable - it says a lot about the place and it made me personally feel awkward leaving and entering the hotel. Just a weird vibe. For a place with only 17 rooms, we were treated like strangers for our 4 nights. No hello no interaction.
The food was lovely as were the Staff in terrace restaurant. Very efficient and super friendly and was a fun place for an arvo of cocktails to relax and unwind. Met some beautiful locals who come for drinks. So definitely recommend a visit up there as it’s chilled with the great views la Concha beach.
Nobu restaurant downstairs is dead…but I guess too many good restaurants in town to compete with.
Hotel has potential so I wish them well but we moved to the Maria Christina. A much more luxurious...
Read moreWe just checked out after spending four magical nights celebrating our wedding, and every moment was unforgettable. The service was exceptional, attentive, thoughtful, and seamlessly detailed from start to finish.||When we arrived, the team at Nobu already knew we were getting married and had a bottle of Txakoli from the very vineyard we were tying the knot at waiting for us in the room. Two nights before the wedding, we hosted our welcome drinks on the Nobu terrace, breathtaking views, incredible food and drink, and the perfect way to kick off the celebrations.||Special shout-out to Ainara, who helped us plan the terrace party and checked in on me throughout the weekend to make sure we had everything we needed. Her warmth and care made such a difference, and we’re so grateful.||On the morning of the wedding, my friends joined me in our room to get ready, and the Nobu team generously brought us coffees and drinks on the house. They also surprised me with a stunning bouquet of flowers that matched my wedding florals perfectly, they had even coordinated with my wedding planner to get every detail just right.||After the wedding, we returned to find a bottle of champagne waiting in our room, a beautiful touch that ended the weekend on a high. The entire experience was flawless, and we’re already planning to return for our one-year...
