Bataplán Disco — Local services in San Sebastián

Tonight was my first night visiting San Sebastian. It was highly recommended by friends. As I was walking, I saw a beautiful terrace on the water with a very quiet vibe. I thought it would be nice too sit and relax and have a drink for a moment. I went to the front of the building (not familiar with this place) paid a $15 cover charge to some mean little man at the front door with an attitude. I then walked down stairs and noticed it was a disco tech with little kids and loud pounding music. I had accidentally walked in the wrong door. I immediately walked out. I asked the mean bald guy which door to go in for the patio. He pointed to the side of the building. I explained that it was my first time there and I accidentally went in the wrong door and asked if I could have my $15 admission back since the terrace did not charge any. Little bald man refused to give me back my $15 cover charge back. . He said he gave me a drink voucher which he never explained before I just assumed it was my receipt. So I gave it back to him (which he took) and he still refused to give me back my money. I was in his building for 30 seconds before I realized I went the wrong door. Fuimos mi marido y yo el 20 de enero día de San Sebastián. En toda la publicidad de Bataplsn informaba que cerraban a las 7:30 de la mañana, fuimos a las 5:30 de la mañana, entramos a las 6:00 de la mañana pagamos 30€ y una copa cada uno y la mujer de la guardarropa nos dijo de muy mal humor que ya no cogía prendas porque cerraban a las 6:30 mi marido y yo no entendíamos nada. Pedimos dos copas eran las 6:15 aproximadamente y la discoteca seguía entrando gente. La gente estaba pasadisima, muy borracha pasándose con clientes y un cliente me estuvo acosando, la seguridad brillaba por su ausencia, algunos de seguridad solo llevaban una camiseta negra sin poner seguridad, que está prohibido hacer eso. El gobierno obligó hace ya unos años a que la seguridad de discotecas tuvieran un título de seguridad y una acreditación de la empresa de seguridad que contrata la discoteca, Bataplsn no cumple la ley. La familia Montenegro lleva más de 30 años renovando con el ayuntamiento la explotación de este local propiedad municipal, ya es hora que la familia Montenegro se retire y deje a otros empresarios a explotar la discoteca cumpliendo la ley y el aforo y el Ayuntamiento haciendo cumplir la ley y no tanto amiguismo. Nos fuimos hartos a las 6:40 y a la salida había uno de seguridad controlando quien salía para ir dejando volver a entrar. Es decir la mujer de la guardarropa no sabía ni cuando se cerraba. La seguridad pésima, el trato de los camareros/as pésimo, no nos ponían sello por si salíamos, por lo que había que pagar otra vez. Se dejaba entrar a cualquiera independientemente de su indumentaria, algo que no era así hasta hace 1 año. No recomiendo ir a esta discoteca, nosotros ya no volvemos. Arriba en la calle había una patrulla de la Ertzaintza supongo que para controlar también el aforo, no hicieron nada. La familia Montenegro junto con el ayuntamiento se han cargado la discoteca Bataplan....

Luckily we were able to get in for free. It would not have been worth paying €15. They don't have price lists for drinks and the bar staff seems to be making up prices for drinks. The music was good, atmosphere was ok. The terrace has a nice view on the sea! If I'd ever visit San Sebastian again, this would be a "go".
