Casa Maria — Hotel in Sant Antoni de Portmany

We came here in June as a group of 10 of us, on arrival our transfer dropped us there around 11am, but we was not allowed to check in till '2' (soon to be 3). So we was told we was welcome to use the pool facilities on the top floor. Baring in mind it was hot outside the lift was broken, so we had to go up to the top floor up 8 flights of stairs, and we had seen reviews that the lift was broken from maybe start of June? and it was still not fixed. So we had to leave our stuff downstairs, get changed and go upstairs and we was told we could check in at 2 (but they didn't let us check in till 3). We also had to carry out suitcases up (some to the 7th floor) which was really not what we wanted. By the time we could finally check in, all of us was all over the hotel (there was 4 rooms - 2 rooms of 2 2 rooms of 3). I think it was out of order that 2 of our group was asthmatic and had to walk up and down the marble stairs in the heat a few times a day. To compensate for the lift being broken we got given a free 'meal' even though we was there for 5 days (but the first day was pretty much wasted waiting around for them to let us check in. We then went out for a bit, came back and our rooms air con wasn't working, so we had to move rooms again. ||Considering this is my 3rd time in Ibiza the accommodation was definitely the worst and I dont think I would return. I think the main thing that would stop me from going back is when you check in you have to put a card down for deposit in case anything gets ruined (if you're wearing glitter make sure you take it off before you go bed). When we had left we was charged for no something we had idea about what so ever, in the morning we checked out all our rooms woke up early to make sure we would not be charged then when we get home we found out we was?? So we had to phone up the hotel which took ages to get through to be told our room had stolen the key box (absolutely bizarre). So we was accused of stealing something which we clearly didnt have and because we didnt take no photos of the room before/after we didnt have a leg to stand on (pretty sure our complaint to onthebeach never got back to us either..) Also the wifi (not a problem for me but for some others) didnt work the whole time we was there. So from my advice I would go to another hotel, I (think) the main reason we booked this was because it was cheap but I have booked cheap hotels in Ibiza before and had no problems||On a better note, the location of the hotel is really good in San Antonio, right near the West End (you cant hear the noise either but if youre going to Ibiza and going to moan about noise...wrong place). How do I begin… the majority of staff here treat their customers like dirt, talk to you like your a brick wall, ignore you when politely asking about information regarding rooms. Carolina is an awful receptionist who shouted at my friends staying there and was extremely difficult. Made us pay €140 for accidental spillages on towels which was a bit of makeup and Pepsi spillage, charged us an extortionate amount threatening to call the police and break down our door if we did not pay !!! You don’t treat people like that especially when we were co-operative and open to paying. DONT purchase the safe as they do not let you use it, 3 days in to our stay it still wasn’t sorted for us and a member of staff would have to open it for us EXTREMELY DODGY, and yet the manager was so quick to charge us for our accidents and couldn’t uphold their policy of giving us OUR safe that we’re entitled to only know the code to. Instead around 4 receptionist knew the code and god knows who else. An expensive towel was stolen from my friend and we saw as we left our room a maid handling a designer back that looked like Gucci or YSL, why was a cleaner touching people’s things especially outside of their room from us !! Shocking. The manager is the worst “professional” I have ever come across. We didn’t have a chance to discuss about the mess as we were out on our holiday in Ibiza ???!!! and she threatened us and was aggressive and violent when we spoke outside our room. They laugh at you towards one another and speak in Spanish when dealing with customers (receptionist Carolina and manager with glasses and long brown hair) and are not understanding at all, a woman staying there had a son who accidentally vomited on the side of a sheet due to food poisoning and they still tried to charge her !! He was only young. I have only one thing left to say, James the bar man is incredible made us feel so welcoming he has great energy and so fun and accommodating and a young girl who was very kind and pleasant, oh and the security man at night who was so patient and friendly and really looks out for his young guests during the evening. Everyone else really should seek help, as they cannot handle this profession. No other hotel cares about spillages on towels, nobody staying with me have ever experienced this treatment it’s absolutely disgusting and you need to re-evaluate the way you treat human...

There was a group of 16 visited between 18th - 22nd September. To be fair we had an amazing holiday in Ibiza. We found the location of the apartments perfect for us. The hotel seemed clean enough. Yeah the staff were rude and ignorant at times but we just got on with it. The guy who runs the bar by the pool was friendly and the music was good. Our bad experience has occurred when we have returned back to England........ our group have become very Ill and found out by blood tests that they have got Leigonairre Disease!!! A number of the girls are on antibiotics, 1 has been admitted to hospital, several have been to A&E and everyone of us had to visit the doctors to get tested! PLEASE BEWARE: the symptoms are similar to flu or a chest infection but anyone who feels Ill must get in contact with the doctors. Its caught through water....so it could be air conditioning that isnt serviced regularly, stagnant water in shower heads or even when brushing teeth if theres an issue with the pipework!!!! Theres no way it can be the flights because the girl who is hospital travelled on a different flight, as did 4 of the other girls who left a day earlier than the rest of us! ||||If we hadn't of become Ill I would rate the apartments average! Nothing amazing about them but nothing...
