This was me and my wife's first holiday in 5 years and first time as parents abroad. We chose this hotel as it met our needs of wanting a hotel with that touch of class whilst catering to our 23 month old. Overall we were very happy with our stay but weren't blown away, don't get me wrong, the hotel was great but I can be very fussy about giving top marks. Would I go back, maybe.
Hotel: The hotel and grounds were lovely, very modern, stylish and the grounds well maintained daily. The pool was nice and big with plenty of room, however we found it to be cold and only one day was it heated. The kids pool was a lot quiter and was colder than the main pool so we didn't use it.
Buffet/A La Carte: The buffet (breakfast/lunch) overall we enjoyed, the presentation of the food was impressive and the variety was impressive. As many people have mentioned, the desserts are simply amazing. My only critique was the quality of some of the kids food, which is a separate section in the buffet restaurant. My daughter (23 months) like most toddlers of that age can be very fussy with food. I found the fish fingers and chicken coujons to be of poor taste, so much so that I spat out the chicken. The meat in the fish finger was a horrible grey colour and was processed shaped meat. Nothing like Birds Eye. We preferred the Green & Grill for lunch, its smaller, not packed and provided a smaller selection of different food from the buffet. We only tried the Oriental and Indian A La Carte. Both provide options from a limited menu. The Oriental food was very tasty and I found this restaurant experience to be the best. The Indian was my least favourite, I had the Korma which was a bit bland as was the garlic nan. I was quite disappointed to find that the exact same food in the Indian restaurant was provided in the buffet whereas the Oriental was not. This took the excitement of eating food 'unique' to the A La Carte away. The hotel website states closed shoes and appropriate attire for eating, I found this was not enforced albeit overall, people dressed accordingly.
Room: We had the family suite on the ground floor right next to the pool and the piano bar. The room was nice but I found some minor faults with the room that just needed some TLC. The skirting board at the main door was coming away from the wall. The bracket in the shower door was misaligned which resulted in the glass door hitting off the frame (I was cautious in case it smashed), there were several light switches with a cluster of about 5 switches on it, naturally you would expect this to control the patio light, side lights, main lights extra. We found on all of the that only one switch worked which was for the main lights. The balcony didn't get any sun and had no view as there was a large bush blocking our view which was unfortunate. Perks were we had a direct path from our adjoining balcony to the pool.
Entertainment: This was were it really shined for me and I give top marks. The main entertainers were an ensemble of extremely talented individuals that are a credit to their trade and TUI. Every performance they did was amazing and we really enjoyed the night where the sang songs from various Disney films. The piano bar was a nice place to chill, live music from performers etc.
Kids Club: We didn't use the Kids Club but I felt the need to mention a interaction from one of the Kids Club staff. My daughter (23 months), developed a strange aversion to males on holiday, she would want picked up and become very shy anytime she saw a male walking in her general direction. Whilst waiting in the coffee shop (which is amazing) a staff member from the Kid Club was in front of me in the queue. He saw my daughter and she became very shy and he immediately began playfully talking to her and committed to making her feel relaxed. This worked a treat and this was the only time that my daughter spoke to a male whilst on holiday. That staff member is amazing and truly a credit to the Kids Club team. I didn't get his name, very friendly Spanish guy, credit due when...

We’ve just returned from a week away as a family of three, with our 4 year old and we had a fantastic time overall! We stayed previously at the Safari hotel around the corner but wanted something that felt a bit more special and for us the Biomar hit the brief.
Many reviews say the rooms are outdated and not very good in the family area compared to the recently renovated adult area, I suppose this is highly subjective but for us, the room felt perfectly fine. We had the Junior Suite with the shared rooftop pool and found it was actually really nice. Could it be improved? Probably, but it’s not something worth scoring down for in my opinion!
The pools were a bit chilly but we found them much better this year once you’re in and moving (compared to the Safari the year before with average temps of 20-23 degrees), the temperature was around 23-25 degrees on average and they were not heated. The rooftop pool with our room was also kind of cold, but again once you’re in, it’s all good. I think these can be heated but I didn’t think to ask as we found it ok! If it can be heated, the hotel should make this clear that it can be requested.
We found the food to be a step up from the Safari. Especially the puddings! Themed nights were all generally good, some highlights for me were Indian and Greek. The outdoor BBQ was also pretty cool, for mass cooked steak I found the meat to be nice and probably better than your average British chain pub steaks (thinking Hungry Horse, etc..). Wouldn’t mind some hash browns at breakfast which they had at the Safari and were quite nice! Unless I couldn’t find them. The pancakes could definitely be better at breakfast. Overall the food is good but can be hit and miss in terms of getting something cold or an outlier in quality. Personally only had 1 or 2 items I couldn’t eat throughout the week.
We’re not very trusting parents but we felt safe sending our son to kids club. He had a fantastic time and all the staff are a credit to the hotel and TUI. He had a brilliant time and was gutted to be coming home and not having more kids clubs. Evening kids entertainment was great, we need T-Bots merchandise! The daytime entertainment was also great but not talked about much, we luckily found a dinosaur themed activity on the app with animatronic dinosaurs which was a big hit with our son. In fairness if I checked the app properly sooner I would have known about it all more in advance.
The Spa was beautiful and calming. I managed a massage on our final day which was incredible. Definitely recommend getting one of those or more during your stay.
Improvement for me would be: more drinks offered during lunch and dinner service or offer self serve soft drinks. It’s very hot and I need more than 300ml of Coke Zero with my meal! Although I understand it’s more about getting people in and out faster, to have 5-star service the restaurants should be able to handle offering extra drinks during service.
people taking towels down at 7am to get sun beds, ok it’s annoying but I can deal with that, if you can’t beat them, join them. However I think people doing this with the ‘Bali beds’ is very distasteful and the staff should remove towels and property from these before the pools are officially open. We found some people actually leaving their stuff overnight for these which I think is unacceptable.
some sort of drinks service to the shared rooftop pools, even if it’s slow, would be a nice touch throughout the day.
some snacks available a bit earlier than 11:30pm for those of us who need the early dinner and early night with young kids would be nice :). Or bar snacks!
food labelling requires some further attention to detail and consistency, but not a huge deal for us.
our TV had terrible patchy signal. Had a Netflix button but no internet, would be nice to be able to use Netflix even if personal account.
Overall a great time and we...

The main point to address with the Biomar, is it’s actually 2 Hotels. The older family, kid friendly one, and the very modern, spacious adult building.
I wish I’d done better research when planning our 30th wedding anniversary holiday. We wanted adults only, total peace and quiet.
So, from the beginning.
Flew from Exeter, and the flight was a snappy 100 mins ! Unfortunately by the time everyone was on the coach at Palma airport , and we’d made the other hotel drop off, when we finally arrived at Sa Coma (the other side of the island) and the Biomar Hotel, we’d been on the coach longer than we were on the plane, over 2 hrs. We booked a taxi at reception for the return trip, €88 and took 60 mins.
Very warm welcome from Hotel and TUI staff. We were escorted to our room by a lovely porter. The adult only hotel ( the big round building in the pics) is very impressive. It’s only 2 years old, and it’s very modern and spacious. Same with the room, really impressed, and exactly what we were hoping for. 4 adjacent ground floor rooms share the pool, we had lovely neighbours, so all was good. A plastic mattress cover was an odd find tho. Made for very hot sweaty sleeps.
The rooms pool area has a lovely 2 people person bed, a table 2 chairs, and an outside shower. The sun was directly on the pool area from sun up, unfortunately you loose the sun around 16.30 ish, but there’s plenty of room around the main pool, which we never did, for reasons I’ll get to.
The main pool area has waiter drinks service ( all the hotel staff we encountered were absolutely exceptional btw) but there is a small garden area between the swim up pool rooms, and the main pool area. This meant our rooms weren’t able to be served by the waiters, when they are serving people on beds literally 20ft away, was a bit annoying. Which means every time we want a drink, getting out the pool, drying off walking through your room, around the building into the bar area, and back again. We’ve stayed in swim up pool rooms before, and these have all been served drinks, it seems like an oversight.
Food in the adult restaurant Lyra was fine. Plenty of variety, but the quality wasn’t brilliant. We’ve had worse, but had far better. The grill area is a bit hit and miss, only one person cooking and requesting what you want, then having it cooked while you wait is a bit of strange choice. Long lines every time. This isn’t a slight on the staff btw , they work incredibly hard and are fantastic, but I don’t think there is enough. Popular choice foods run out very quickly, and not replenished anytime soon.
We read in the reviews that the à-la carte options were good, we didn’t find that the case. All the alacarte areas are in the family hotel, which is somewhat older and tired looking, and be prepared for lots of small children. Absolutely no problem with children, I’ve got my own. But not what we expected on an adults only Hotel (not adults area) holiday. The food was also very average, and all the a la carte restaurants were very under staffed.
This is where we get to the biggest problem we personally found with the Biomar. Anyone over 18 staying in the family area can use the facilities in the adult section, and because of the diffence in the quality and size of the restaurants, bars, pool areas between the two, most did, everyday. I know I’m going to sound like an old git here, but large groups everyday would descend on the pool area, with a large ghetto blaster and have the loudest time of their lives. They’ve paid their money, and they have every right to, but it’s not was advertised, and definitely not what we chose for our romantic 30th anniversary. The pool area became a bit of a no go area. The neighbours next to us made it very clear they felt the same. We enjoyed our time at the Biomar, it may not sound like it, but we really did. We wouldn’t go again though, if the adult section were on...
