Let me start by saying it is a nice beach that’s comparable to some islands in the Caribbean. The sand is fine and water is clear, although does have particles of seaweeds floating about. Water is warm! However, people are very unaware of personal space. My husband, son, and I paid 36 euro for two sun beds and an umbrella. Very pricy if you ask me but we needed the shade and we wanted to lounge. You do get two free drinks from the beach bar which is nice! We got a spot right up front. We need to be able to keep an eye on our son while he’s in the water so it was important to get a place up front.
We got here around 10am on a Saturday in July (today). It wasn’t very crowded at first but people came in drones soon after and the beach got crowded by 11! Around 10:30, a group of 10 decided to set up next to us. Not a problem at all. Now it’s 12 and these people are coming even closer to our area. Directly in front of us. They have so much room in front of them but decided to dig a huge ditch in front of one of our chairs. I’m not sure if it’s because in the U.S. people understand personal space but I think this is ridiculous. We are not talking about a few feet in front of us which by the way, there is plenty of room a few feet away. But, we are talking about directly in front of my chair.
This beach is so crowded that Im not sure we’ll come back to it. I’m glad we rented a car to hopefully find a more quiet and relaxed beach.
Maybe this is an unfair review, but even with the most popular beaches in the U.S., people Understand personal space. Such a shame people don’t understand here. So many people set up their belongs right next to each other so maybe this is considered normal.
Picture of the other group and my chair.
If you want a more relaxed and less crowded beach, I suggest finding another one. Although, there may not be such a thing...
Read moreSweeping beach , semi circular beach which is tourist central, located in downtown Sa Coma. This tourist heavy beach is appealingly crescent shaped . The massive amount of sunbeds and palapas tell the story that this is NOT a private , undiscovered beach-----this is a beach the is many times pack with bodies , laying in a side by side , sardine can -like formation. Great for people gawking !!! ++++Note-----There is a large amount of eelgrass in the water here. Workers regularly rake the beach and move the eelgrass that has washed up on the beach , to the edges of the beach. There are HUGE piles of this eelgrass in areas , piled up in certain locations and rotting in the warm Mallorcan sun. --------STINKY !!!!!!!++++ There are beach flags indicating the surf conditions from safe to stay out of the water flags. Strolling along the Malecon along this beach can be fun with many things to see , both on the beach and on the Malecon. Restaurants are close by Restrooms available in restaurants Handicap doable and recommended for easy access. Final take---------Recommended only if you want a non private , people...
Read moreMaybe the worst beach in Mallorca. Absolutely disgusting. There is so much seaweed in the water, I’ve never seen something like this. It is pretty long beach but wherever you go - seaweed is there. Not only in shallow waters, but few meters inside the water. And not inly seaweed! There are oily stains on the surface of the water, and some garbage, and also a foam like someone was spitting in the water for miles. Water is warm, there is enough space to place an umbrella, parking can be a bit challenging, but you can find it a bit further in the street. If you hate yourself and want to punish yourself, do come here. Otherwise, go to Playa del Muro, Cala S’Amarador, or Platja de...
