There are so many good things which I could and would like to say about this new Iberostar hotel, a hotel group whose establishments we have repeatedly used and had fantastic vacations at, but frustratingly all that good at the Es Trenc was totally overshadowed by ‘Vapists’||Sadly this new and out of control addiction, has already become the scourge of the Iberostar Selection Es Trenc. Whether you are having breakfast, lunch or dinner on the restaurant terrace, having a drink inside the lobby/lounge bar, or coffee on the lobby/lounge terrace, you will at some stage become engulfed in the sickly smelling fog that blows and swirls in your direction. The pool areas, both main and rooftop are also peppered with ‘Vapists’ and you are having to try and choose areas to sunbathe, but this only after you have undertaken a diagnostic appraisal of wind direction, distance between sunbeds/seating areas and the frequency of the puffers, with the later generally being constant puffing! This means you are forced to sit or relax in areas that are not those you would necessarily wish to be in, even having to move on occasions! ||The ‘Vapists’ during our vacation seemed to believe they could vape wherever they wanted and whenever they wanted, often trying to disguise their habit by surrounding the vape vessel in a clenched fist and sucking repeatedly. To prove my point as I complete this review at 0925hrs on Wednesday 17th September, we have had to ask to be moved to a different table during breakfast as yet another Vapist takes to her fix!||Frustratingly when approaching staff which I did on several occasions, asking what the hotel policy was on vaping, I was met with either indifferent and/or casual responses lacking any detail or information or ones which were somewhat dismissive of my concerns with a ‘well it is what it is’ attitude.||So Iberostar Group Management, Iberostar Selection Es Trenc Hotel Management, decide on whether you wish to look after the wellbeing and comfort of ALL of your guests and not just giving free rein to the minority and allow them to constantly create a thick haze of dissatisfaction for the rest of us. And whatever route you decide to take, at least please train and educate your staff on your policies and procedures and give them the tools to manage these types of situations! ||Finally though, I do have to say a big thanks to the staff throughout the hotel for their friendliness, work ethic and attitude. They do not always get things 100% correct but they are committed to ensuring you have as pleasant a time as possible - they just need the management team to offer them more guidance! Read moreSpent 4 days at Iberostar Selection Es en Trenc, lovely property situated on the water in Colònia de Sant Jordi. Why did I give it 4 stars and not 5? Let me explain. ||To me, 5-star luxury anticipates. It is effortless. It is practiced, polished and…most of all…it’s consistent across the board. Luxury sweats the details. Premium and upscale off access to nicer amenities but what they have in niceness they sometimes lack in attention to detail. ||What I liked about the property:||1. Staff were lovely. Friendly. Fran at the pool was a great guy. ||2. Location - right in the water and facing southwest…making for stunning sunsets over the water. ||3. Pool had unobstructed sunlight all day.||4. Not a huge resort. About 150 rooms. Made it feel more personal, not small enough to be intimate, but lovely. ||5. Very, very few children, and the ones that were there were well-behaved. ||6. Guests were lovely. People dressed appropriately for meals, no one was rowdy or staggering around drunk. Felt very dignified.||What could have been better. ||1. Staff were nice, but I would not say they were consistently attentive. Attentive = luxury. Nice but not attentive = upscale. Attentiveness issues at bar, buffet restaurant and pool (though not Fran. He was very attentive).||2. Limited food options on property. There is a buffet with good, not great food. Sit-down restaurant is reservation only and we could not get in on any of the nights we were there. Booked solid. ||3. Rooftop bar was closed the entire time we were there even though there were ads in the elevator encouraging you to go up and visit. ||4. The rooms are a bit weird. When booking I had a hard time appreciating the room layouts from the photos. And I think I know why. We booked a panoramic suite. Killer views. Weird thing was the bathroom sink and all storage for clothing were in the living area. The toilet was also off the main living area so if you were having a moment anyone sitting in the sofa is gonna hear it. Shower was in the passageway from the living area to the bedroom. Interestingly, we lucked out because the other “suites” are open floor concept with the living and sleeping areas in one room. That’s not a suite in my book. ||All in all, we loved our stay and would happily return. Understanding the property, what it is and what it is not, I will come back with expectations aligned to experience and I’m sure it will be a wonderful...
Read moreWe just returned from a truly unforgettable week at Iberostar Selection Es Trenc, and we cannot recommend it highly enough. Everything about our stay was perfect — from the beautiful setting and immaculate facilities to the warm and attentive service from the incredible staff.
A huge thank you to Lillia, the manager, for running such an outstanding team. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. At the front desk, Oledia was a true gem — always helpful, friendly, and ready to assist with anything we needed. Jessy helped us organize several wonderful activities and excursions around Mallorca, and thanks to her, everything was seamless and stress-free.
We’d also like to thank the amazing front desk staff as a whole, and the lovely bar team, including Cynthia and Enrique, who were always cheerful and attentive, making our time at the bar feel extra special.
A special mention as well to Alonso and his fantastic team at the Es Carbó restaurant. Every meal was an experience — the food, the presentation, the service — all top-tier. Alonso and his staff made each evening feel elegant yet relaxed, and the quality of the cuisine was truly impressive.
The hotel itself is modern, stylish, and spotlessly clean. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed, with a view that made every morning feel like waking up in a dream. The entire property is thoughtfully maintained, creating a calm and luxurious atmosphere throughout.
The location is ideal — just a short walk to the pristine Es Trenc beach, with its clear turquoise water and natural surroundings. It’s one of the most beautiful beaches we’ve ever seen.
Whether we were lounging by the pool, enjoying the spa, or sipping a drink at sunset, every part of our stay felt relaxing, welcoming, and high quality.
This was easily one of the best holidays we’ve ever had. Thank you again to the wonderful team at Iberostar Selection Es Trenc for making...
