Although the Cano has a 1☆ rating it does have something to offer. ||It has a very good location, a pleasant 10 min walk to the beach, taxi and bus station 4 mins around corner, shops and restaurants practically on the doorstep. It is exceptionally clean and the air con is very good and is not limited by you having to be in the room!|The rooms are very, very basic, absolutely no frills whatsoever, not even a picture on the wall and the decor is plain and dated, not tired as it appears to be well maintained, just dated. You are given paper cups (which go soggy) and little pods of shampoo and shower gel (So I bought my own for a few euros in the many shops in the location). The bed is very firm and only one pillow (double bed, synchronised couple sleeping then) and a light sheet with an option of a blanket in wardrobe.|No tea/coffee in room but that seems to be the normal nowadays (since covid), no hairdryer, full length mirror (although you can stand back in the make up mirror and see most of yourself), no electric plugs where you want them so dry your hair in the bathroom (with your own hairdryer) etc and the TV is tiny, the WiFi drops in/out and the shower runs hot and cold.|I have a 2nd floor room with balcony on the main road. Road noise really is not an issue. The door is well sound proofed and as stated the air con is very good.|There is a fridge in the room. ||They have their querks, TV remote is handed to you with your keys when booking in, and your keys have to be handed in when leaving the hotel for the day etc. Which is fine (who wants to carry bulky room keys round with them all day), until the morning when having a coffee, the waiter took my key. No intention of going out, I waited for him to return but he didn't. So had to search for him to find out he had returned them to the reception!! Sounds silly but it was morning hassle! ||FYI the curtain on my door to the balcony, to the outside world is . . . Completely see-through! ||Staff: the only interaction I have had is with the reception and they never seem happy, the grey hair older man seems a misery! ||I spend very little time in an hotel therefore using very few of the facilities so spending double because a hotel has a Spa and Gym doesn't work for me. Hotel Cano has what you NEED and does have a great location. I am convinced that they are happy as a 1☆ and will continue penny pinching to provide a cost advantage. ||With everything in mind, Would I come...
Read moreConveniently located just 5 blocks from Playa del Cura, a short walk to Playa Los Locos. It's one block from Mercadona and close to plenty of restaurants and pubs. If you want a bang for your buck (approx. 40-45€ per night/50'ish US$), it's well worth it. You get a very clean room, clean bedsheets, my room had a lovely terrace with a table and 2 chairs. Rooms have a really good AC (I almost froze one night), but if you are looking for a hot shower, good luck. If you shower in the AM, forget it, barely luck warm. If you try later in the morning, early afternoon when guests are out, you are in luck for a decently warm shower, but it's a matter of preference (I like scalding). They offer breakfast for 5€, that includes toast, coffee, juice, a slice of ham a slice of cheese and some mini muffins or mini pastries. This is a 1 star hotel, no frills, no luxury bathroom amenities, but decent, clean, excellent service from the staff, very informative and helpful. There is no disability accessibility into the hotel, I saw staff helping people. Once inside, there is an elevator that can move someone with a disability up and down. That is the only drawback. Would I stay here again? Most certainly. You can't beat the price or location. If you want beach view, definitely not the place. If you don't mind walking a bit and taking in the local...
Read moreWhen checking in to Cano hotel, I suppose, due to a language barrier I accidentally paid for three nights. I thought I paid only for two nights. I thought they understood that I was going to spend only 4 nights there in total and that I would first want to pay for 2 nights only||||On the second day, I paid for two more nights to make sure that I would have a place to stay till the end of my stay. Right after this payment I realized from my bank account that for some reason they had charged me already for three nights the first time I paid when checking in originally. ||||I explained this to the clerk and asked them to refund me for the extra night. They told me that it is impossible to refund. I have to admit that I got pretty frustrated because basically they stole 70€ from me.||||From TripAdvisor rewievs I found at least one quote similar situation. So, I would advise you guys to keep far away from this hotel. The room was also very asketic: Only small TV, bed, with one pillow very thin blanket, couple of towels. But that would've be enough for me, it was the stealing of my 70€ that...
